Installed today. Used an OTRATTW switch next to the ipod aux. Just didn't feel like waiting. Window is actually more secure now than before.

I'm definitely interested in either version.

The only question I have is what you have to do to disable the latch on the window?

The window is left slightly open. It is more secure with this hardware than the latch is clamp closed.

    Great job with the install!

How do you like that switch? I can't recall, did you say it is illuminated?

Either do what krob said, or you can remove the latch completely if you so desire.

Thanks. The switch works great. It is illuminated. The only issue we had with it is it doesn't work like the rest. The rest are amber when the truck lights turn on and the slit turns green when the switch activates the lights connected to them. The slider doesn't allow it to work quite the same. Not much of an electrician. My resident expert said it would require a dead man's switch, whatever that is. We had to trim the switch quite a bit to fit where it is. If it were on the left of the steering wheel it wouldn't have required quite so much.

You adjust the window to close ALMOST completely, but not enough to latch. so it's still closed all the way, only the latch doesn't engage. So yes it is water tight still.:D

Installed another kit in a local member's Access Cab today:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FJU3bEB5D8

My gf took lots of video of the install, so I'm going to edit it all together as an instruction tutorial and release this version of the AC kit very soon.

Thanks to all those who have offered to pledge to a kickstarter project. I am definitely going to go that route. I need to put together a basic intro video and then I will get this train rolling.

I will offer the kit to pledgers for a special "introductory price" (it is against kickstarter's rules to offer a "discount" :p). But the point is you will have added incentive to get in on the kickstarter pledge and be one of the first 150 takers.

For those who are not familiar with kickstarter, it is a site in which one publicizes their project, and "backers" pledge money to help the project starter fund the project. The project starter sets a budget goal, say $20,000, and sets the pledge amount, say $200. It is an all-or-nothing deal -- if the project starter receives enough backers to reach the budget goal, the project starter gets the $20,000 and is able to put his product to market, and each of the backers receives one of whatever the project starter is selling. If however the budget goal is not reached (not enough backers), then no money changes hands and the project is a no-go. It minimizes everybody's risk, and is ideal for a project like this in which the gizmo has been designed, prototyped, installed, and put into service with success.

That is an awesome plan. I haven't heard of a kickstarted until now. I think you have more than enough interest to get enough pledged, and be able to produce the kits. Sorry I never got back to you with pictures of my kit. I have been going through some crappy stuff lately. I can get some shots tomorrow morning for sure if your still in need of them.

Hey Ben, Thanks for doing the Install on my 2008 Access Cab last week-end, Its exactly as advertised , Its completely hidden and works Great ! , This may very well be my new Best Favorite Mod I have done to my Truck.

For anybody who is just thinking about doing this Mod, don't wait as this really does give excellent Bang for the Buck, and in my opinion Ben is very Honest and His Product is top notch at a Great Price.

    Thanks again !! [IMG]

I've never heard of kick starter, but it sounds like a great idea. I'm very interested. When will you have a price and do we pledge here on TW or on the kick starter Site?
