I'm not sure how you interpreted my post but I said DESIGN on how to motorized the back slider, not IDEA to motorize the back window and I was careful to word it that way for a reason. Hey, I admire your attempt to be a cynical asshole but take it elsewhere. Thank you.

Either you live by the "Honor System" or you don't. Simple as that.

Looks like we need to tar and feather 90% of the vendors here for selling similar products.

Just saying. If you have no problem make profits off on another person(s) idea you go ahead do that. But like I said it's all about having that "Honor System".

That system that he decided to stop making?
Nah man. I see nothing wrong with it. But that's just me. If he makes the kit available for sale, good for him. There are plenty of led bed lights kits on here

I bet Henry Ford agrees with this sentiment as well since so many others are making profits off of his idea. We've given the guy plenty of time to come back to this with multiple attempts to contact him without result.

I understand honor, I never allow people to be out of pocket at my expense. I say what I mean, and I do what I say. And I'll say this, it's time for another proactive member that is a hell of a lot smarter than me to start producing these to help the TacomaWorld community at large. This is one of those times that I wished I'd studied a practical trade instead of law.

At this point anyone that wants to take this product idea and market it has all the rights in the world to do so and not be a douchebag/scumbag. This is called free market opportunity. The OP took no finalized action to protect his work/idea so it is fair game. No body has to go ask if they're allowed to sell a product/idea that is not legally restricted.
So if you have ever bought an off brand of anything or something that wasn't from the original vendor (if you can find them), you are a hypocrite for calling douchebag/scumbag for marketing OPs work/idea.

Example: Vendors selling the same led strips for bed lighting/hood lighting.

Example: Vendors that sell products (bumpers, sliders, skids, light bar brackets,...) for our trucks. There was no peace circle where everyone approved the products weren't the same.

Example: Rtic (and other companies) copied Yeti patented designs, but there was probably a lapse in legal formalities that let's them do so. Now the market has competition which drives the manufacturers to build better products.

/rant their will be no further retorts on this topic from me.

    You mean this part?

"Since I respect his intellectual idea, I will not steal his idea for profit but anyone who doesn't care about respect could in theory take his idea and sell it for profit."

Wow, someone let me know when I can buy a kit because I have to unsubscribe before I start calling mental midgets out for their blatant hypocrisy.

I stepped up for the MOLLE panel. May I should for this too? It'll take a little time though. Got a lot on my plate right now.

I've already gathered the parts to do this mod but have been super busy so I haven't touched it yet. If you throw together a kit that is more than just a box full of parts (which I already have lol) then I'll step up to the plate and buy a kit.

I'd be down for this too! I wouldnt mind just buying a kit then having to piece everything together and do it myself. Honestly, we are all adults here and there is no reason for name calling. We all love the idea of a sliding rear window and some of us dont have the ingenuity or skills needed to make this work. Now before someone says "Everything needed to make one is in this thread" there are people who dont have the skills to make this themselves and have it function properly. I say if someone is willing to step up to the plate and make a kit for the rest of TW more power to them!

    Cheers,
    Tyler

There's a search in thread function and you can find everything you need to complete this kit in said thread. Minus the bar you need to have fab'd/machined
