Hard to say without seeing it in person. I think the motor assembly would fit behind there without much problem, but it looks like you'd have to trim the top of the plastic slightly to allow for the trolly track to mount to the window frame, and then cut two small slits to allow the cables to pass thru. I'll have to see if I can check out an AC in person. Thanks for posting that pic, anyway.

If you replaced the cable and housing with a longer cable and housing... Is there a place near the rear window where you can conceal the actuator?

Yeah, the plastic part meets the window frame - so you'd have to trim it some to make room for the track.

As I's sure you're aware the rear AC seats changed a bit in 08 or 09. Mine is an 06. I have no idea if the changes impact this area or not.

I'd be interested in one of these if it works.

I'm not sure. The one limitation that I can think of is that the longer the cables/housings are and the more curves you put in, the more friction there is in the system and at some point the motor may not be powerful enough to overcome all the friction, especially if you have a sliding window that doesn't slide that smoothly. Not saying it can't be done, but just saying that I personally haven't tested anything like that to confirm that it works. I know power sliding windows for Ford's and Dodge's use much longer cables with the motor mouted way lower ono the cab wall, but the only problem is that the trolly that the cables pull on is integrated into the window frame itself so it's not something that could just be added to an existing window frame.

    Here's a pic from a Ford:

I was not aware of that. I'll have to check both trims in person to see for myself. I may stop by the stealership today on the way to a bbq to ask if I can have a look at a newer AC.

Yup. I'm not sure about the details, but in the newer ones there are some that have a sub b/n the rear seats and not all have that. I think that could potentially be an issue for the new ones.

Quick-install power sliding window kits are now available -- accepting orders, deposit required. Expect 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Includes everything needed to complete the installation, including window bracket, motor mount, shim, adhesive, switch, add-a-circuit, wiring, hardware, and installation instructions.

As of now, I'm not sure if the kit will work on an access cab.

I'd do it if I knew I could make it work in my Access cab. I might dig around a little and see how possible I think it is.

Hey primer or somebody else who has an AC: is it difficult to remove the rear seatbacks in your AC's? If not, is there any chance you could remove the passenger side seatback and take a pic of the backside of it so I can see what it looks like back there? I'm really trying to figure out if I can make this mod work for an AC. Any help would be hugely appreciated, by me and by anyone else who has an AC who wants this mod!!

Here's a couple close up pics of the installed unit...can you tell whether or not it would work with the AC rear seatback based on the pics? I'm sure the top of the seatback would need to be trimmed where the regulator track mounts to the window frame, but what about the motor?

I really think that it will have to be trimmed where it mounts to the window frame. Hopefully that's not a huge deal.

Never had my seatback all the way off. I'll bet it's not too hard (someone let me know if I'm crazy). I probably won't have time before this weekend - but I can try to do it and take a pic then. I was out messin with my truck yesterday. Shoulda done it then.

If it can be done with limited trimming I'm in for one.

This could be a reach, but what about adding some kind of spacers (perhaps about 1/2") between the seatbacks and the wall of the cab to set the whole seatback forward 1/2"? That might eliminate the need to trim plastic. Would spacing the seatbacks forward 1/2" be too goofy? It may not even have to be 1/2", maybe less would do the trick. Just trying to think outside the box.

I think I understand what you're saying. I think it will depend on how the plastic attaches to the back of the cab. I think it snaps into multiple spots back there if I remember right. I'm guessing it would be easier just to trim, but I'll try to take pics so you can see.

Ah, I see what you mean. Would be awesome if you could get some pix! :)

The main thing that would be a PITA about trimming is what to do with the velour fabric material.

I think the trimming would be limited to just the hard plastic at the top. If the motor won't fit I'll bet the trimming there wouldn't affect that material either - but that's probably a bold statement for someone who hasn't removed anything completely yet...

I should have time this weekend to do some demo/recon work.
