Make sure you have the charge controller on the right setting depending on what kinda battery you have it won't charge if not on the right setting

Finished the solar power install, today.

The solar charge controller I'm using is a Renogy Wanderer. I got this controller from @05prerun82 . he hooked me up and I can't thank him enough! :fistbump:

    Pic of controller:

First thing I had to do was determine how I was going to route the wires, but in order to do that I needed to determine where the components would be located.

The solar panel I flipped so the junction box was facing to the rear of the truck.
    15777312982556947325166300677876.jpg

After about an hour, i figured the best spot for the charge controller would be in the cab, specifically on the rear wall.
    15777313742921392647976941816714.jpg

Once I made that decision, it was time to plan and route the wiring. The first step was wiring up the panel with weatherproof QD connectors. This allows me to service/replace the panel without affecting the system.

    1230190952.jpg

The next step was to mount and begin wiring the charge controller. I first removed the back rest.
    1230191055_HDR.jpg

Then, I mounted the box and drilled the backrest for the wires:
    1230191035_HDR.jpg

I then routed the wires, clipping some of the plastic ribs and taping the wiring down with duct tape. I also labeled each pair of wires as battery or panel.
    1230191054.jpg

I then installed the backrest and ran the wires. The set for the battery I ran along the rocker panel. The set for the panel I ran through the grommet in the rear door.

    1230191113a.jpg

At this point, it was just a matter of running the wires a few feet to their respective locations.

    15777321120163572204698198553388.jpg

Charge quality is fantastic as I'm getting enough voltage to now charge to 100% in direct sunlight.

All that's left to do is get some conduit and clean up the wiring at the back of the cab.
