Been happy with my Continental TerrainContact A/T. Probably not has grippy as K02 in tougher offroad, but they are quiet and grip asphalt in everything so far (wet, snow, gravel). Had it on dirt trails and mud and it slogged thru it all rather well.

    Tires that I've had that were amazing as far as highway miles and still able to get dirty;

Bridgestone Revo2 (current version is #3)
    https://www.bridgestonetire.ca/tire/dueler-at-revo-2-eco
Ran these for 40K, they were quiet, and easy to drive on the highway.

    Michelin LT A/T2
    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=LTX+A/T+2
Brother in law is on his third set of these, no issues at all, put them on and don't think about tires for another 5 years..

I liked my K02, they were heavy and aggressive looking, but worked well on the highway. I never noticed them being loud. I wouldn't recommend them for someone doing 90% highway miles.. Nor would I recommend the Toyos I just bought for that..

Yessir that's a fair point. I can't remember if the KOs were three peak rated, but the nittos are not. Not much of a concern for me where I live, probably not so great up there in the northern lands.

285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers in C load. I'm like 90% street, but when i go off road, I actually go off road and not just some forest service roads that stock subaru can do.

I get 17-18mpg in the winter, 19-20mpg in the summer.

I have to put in my 2 cents for the Cooper AT3 line. I have had ko2's, and last set was wildpeaks at3w. I went from 265/75/16 C load k02 to SL load wildpeaks and now onto the 285/75/16 Cooper AT3 XLT E load. The coopers are unreal quiet onroad and on the highway. I haven't tested them yet in the snow and mud as I did the last sets as I have only had them for a couple weeks so far but if they perform as others have said I may have found my last AT tire. For reference I would order the 3 from best to worst as coopers, wildpeaks, then KO2. I felt the wildpeaks were quieter than the ko2 and handled snow/wet conditions much much better.

Not that the ko2s are a great snow tire by any means, but they do have the 3 peak symbol. They work ok in the snow for where i live .

I previously had the KO2's for 50K with no issue, but since I'm only really off-road maybe a couple times a month and only on trails once or twice a year I went with the Bridgestone Dueller AT Revo 3 this time around, 60K rated, lighter and quieter also MUCH better in the rain and the snow we had than my K02 thanks to the water siping vs the cleats on the KO2's.

So far I've got about 5K on them and milage isn't really any different, about 15-17 like usual but they are quieter and handle better on road. I've gotten it plenty dirty though and they've done alright in mild mud and sand and snow that we've had.

I've had a few sets of tires and it comes down to even tire wear. Some are easier to maintain. Best LT road tires I'd have to say Michelin, easy. Best AT I'd prob say BFG Ko2. Btw, I have e rated ko2s and they're quiet riding and I don't feel a large difference in ride quality at 36psi on hwy

Don’t listen to this advice. My KO2 experience was horrible. Loud, shit road manners, needed balancing every 3k miles, the absolute worst wet traction I’ve ever experienced. The wet traction was so bad I couldn’t trust the truck in any weather other than sun and dry.

They do really well in the snow for not being a winter rated tire.

K02s are very quiet for what they are. Much quieter than my snow tires and not much louder than stock Goodyear’s.

That is what I bought about a year ago. I am mostly on the road or on trails and tracks on work sites. They are not mud tires by any stretch, but I have pulled a few other vehicles out of the mud in slick conditions with them. They are very quiet on the road too with good traction in all conditions so far.

So how long were you in artillery before you retired? By the time I got to around 30k on mine, I literally could not hear anything on the radio without cranking it way up. I would get out of the truck with my ears ringing after long drives, and my wife could hear me coming from a block away while she was inside the house. I also got into two wrecks in wet pavement conditions because the tires locked up under extremely light braking and slid like they were on ice. I felt the way you did for about the first 5000 miles on the duratracs, but after that, they got louder and Louder and LOUDER and LOUDERR!!! If you only had them a while, you probably never got to that point.

    Wow.

My tires had no issues balancing at all, and the wet traction is not bad. Maybe you just got unlucky with the set. I personally know quite a few people with ko2s and none of them had balancing issues, road noise, or shit wet traction.

There is a reason a lot of guys run them.

Really? Dang that’s wild because the few people I know that ran them had the same issues as I did. Are you running c or e rated? Everyone I know runs e rated and has horrible reviews.

I got e rated, my buddy has c and 2 more people i know got e rated. I wish i knew the load ratings when i bought my truck. Im definetily going to c next time, just for weight savings. Other than that my tires have been flawless.

k02s are a great all-round tire. They have a great combination of off-road durability and traction, on-road manners, good looks, and quality construction. The only department they lack in is winter performance. I would say they are worse in most winter conditions than most all-season M+S tires, including the stock goodyears.

A fantastic 3-season tire. I’ll likely buy another set when mine wear out.
