    Hi all,

I hope this isn't too much for one thread. I'm looking at getting a newer taco. I have a 01 6cyl 5sp with the trd package. I want to upgrade to a 2nd gen. Manual transmission is a must and I also have a Pastime 700fds slide in camper that I will be putting on it. It weighs about 1150 wet. I'm leaning toward toward a 4cyl we don't mind going slow but I don't want to tax the engine and tranny too much. I'm going to try and create a poll too. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Dan

If youre towing consistently i would recommend the V6! Not a HUGE difference in MPG and way more torque. Im not sure about the long term effects on the I4 drivetrain when towing but I know for sure its a damn good motor and haven't heard of any major issues with it.. welcome to tacoma world!

I have a 4cyl 5 speed, love the gas mpg, do miss the power. I’ve had less issues on this vs. my 07 v6 auto.

    I am voting what I have and love... 2015 4cyl 5-spd Access Cab 4x4.

However I have the Utility Package so I have regular car type buckets but with tons of extra room to recline the seats (further than a DC) and being a 2015 I have a back up camera, also added an SR5 head unit for better sound and XM.

Also ordered Convenience Package which got me factory key-less, leather steering wheel, cruise, and tinted glass in the rear with the vent rear window to boot.
