I want to lift the front of my 2014 Tacoma 4x4 about 3" and have looked a numerous ways. I was going to do a ReadyLift coil spacer with sway bar drop, but I heard this is terrible. I heard that it preloads the spring and makes a stiff ride. I don't want anything to crazy. I don't want a lift that is going to rip CV boots all the time either. So what is the best way to lift just the front about 3" and can any bads come out of just a 3" lift? Thank you!

You can do billie 5100's set at 2.5 with stock coils or upgraded springs and an AAL in rear or new spring pack. It will give a decent lift but stiffer ride. Personally, I recommend an OME 3" lift, but I'm partial to them

Just get Kings or ICON. You'll be brrraaaping in no time. You can replace the inner cv boots with those offered by All Pro or SDHQ to mitigate tearing. Or just boot slide them till they tear then replace.

Assuming your rear is stock, 3" in the front will probably leave you quite a bit nose high. 3" is also the general rule for when you need new UCAs to get your truck aligned properly, so that is worth considering.

That being said, I have the ride height adjustable Bilstein 5100s with stock coils set at 1.75 and am slightly nose high, but plan on an AAL for the rear soon. This route is hard to beat if you only want a small amount of lift and are looking to achieve a good ride on a tight budget. I bought mine from Wheelers for ~$200.

Yes, you will definitely need new UCA's. If you're on a budget, I agree with OKJC, get the billies, set at 1.75 and do an AAL, good lift for the $$$ and not ridiculously stiff. But still stiffer than stock. If $$ isn't the main deciding factor, I would go with after market coils, struts, shocks, leaf springs and UCA's. You'll obtain a good lift with a smooth ride. On my 09 Prerunner I had billies @ 1.75 w/stock coils and ToyTec AAL and I was pleased with the results for the $$, especially since I did all the work and only paid for parts.

So would this be a good option for a good ride

Will I have to worry about CV boots with a 3 inch lift? I will get new UCA.

get OME 883 lifting springs and 5100s all around. set them at 0" setting in the front. pretty much the truck will sit level. driver's side will be 1/2" lower because of the taco lean but not a big deal.

i know. he doesn't want a 3" lift. he wants his truck level. at least that's what it seemed like he wanted. maybe i'm wrong?

to level a truck out you only need a 1 1/2" lift in the front and nothing in the back.

or is he wanting a 3" lift in front and 1 1/2" lift in the back to make the truck level? :D

It all depends on how deep your pockets are and for what use you will be doing in the truck. If your off-road a lot and do some extreme stuff then yes, get a good suspension lift. If your not off-roading much at all and use it more for a daily driver then you wont have to spend as much. Def stick with a suspension lift though.

well the way he said it in his post it sounded like he just wanted the front raised up to make it level. he may have thought it took 3" to do so???

    i dunno it's confusing.

go by the title yeah 3" lift. go by what he said not a 3" lift.

I think I will do ToyTec coils with 5100s, but how is the pro comp lift compared to toytec, I won't use the rear lift since I only want the front lifted, but In your opinion what would be a better smoother ride. Here is the pro comp lift:
    http://www.procompusa.com/prodDetail.aspx?partNo=EXPK5081B&catID=1&ptID=3533

Also, is it better to buy the complete coil from toytec or save $200 and build them my self. Does that mean I need a spring compressor and the use of factory top hats? Thank you for the help
