Ok, so I’ve done a lot of digging around and research and have a lot of different opinions about the best lift for different situations. Can anyone give me some advice based on situation?

So I want to lift my truck 3 inches and put on 17in wheels and run 285/70/17 or 285/75/16 if I don’t put bigger wheels on. I have an aftermarket front and rear fabfour bumpers already on. Adding about 300-400 pounds in the front and 100 pounds in the back. I will eventually make it an overlander but not for quite a while. I am on a budget and trying to decide if a 2 inch lift will give me the look and clearance I want for a better price than 3 inch. The UCA cost is the biggest thing. If I run a 2 inch lift can I run 275/70 or will it rub? Thanks in advance!

If you are looking for clearance, lose the fab fours front bumper. You lost approach angle clearance by adding it.

As far as lift options, call Headstrong Off-road and talk to Marie. She can help you out.

To run that tire your going to need to trim the cab mount, fender liner, hammer pinch weld no matter what lift you put on it.
If you are 2wd then 3 inches is doable with maxtrax spindles. If 4wd stick to 2.5 inches
Fox progressive better street softer ride
Icon digressive better at higher speeds stiff on the street and slower speeds.
You are going to want a 700lb coil to support all that weight.

3rd gens have an inch built in over the second gens. So it's my understanding that a 3" lift for a 3rd gen is actually a 2". If your on a budget go with headstrong like @Trident904 said. Look into the bilstien 5100's(cheapest) or 5160/6112 (little more exspensive)performance coil over. They're still quite affordable over some of the bigger name brands but have heard a lot of good reviews on them Marie at headstrong knows her stuff so she'll take care of you. Good luck and remember, we need pics!!! LOL.

You didn’t tell us your budget... I’m assuming in the 3k range. Wheel are 500-1k, tire 1k unlesss you go wildpeak cuz they cheap AF, assuming you want a full leaf pack 600-700, 3 leaf aal or single aal is 200ish, but wouldn’t go this route if you wanna overland it. Are you installing this stuff or a shop.

If you can spend money on a coilover system, you can afford UCAs like JBA and SPC as there only 450ish. Your gonna need UCAs if you actually wanna offroad your truck.

A lot of ways to lift your truck. Good luck picking. Just know the higher you go aka preload you sacrifice the quality of ride. Stick with 2-2.5”
