Thinking of a small lift, but dont want to kill comfort. What are my best options? Level kit? Not sure since this is a TRD and it comes already with a little upgraded set up from the factory. Pics would be especially appreciated, thanks!

Taco#6, I am in the same boat as you - except I have a strong hatred from those Tar Heels - Go PACK! - I want to eventually lift the Taco up around 3". Here are some options with rough price estimates that I got on TW asking around. I haven't gone with anything yet. Mainly waiting until I need new tires to do it all at once (Lift and get bigger tires).

Stealing another post from here - thanks, Smiley.

5100s up front and an AAL, ~$300
-Yes you can use stock coils, and yes it will be level(with the exception of the "Taco lean")
This is what I had on my Tacoma and it rode smooth enough for me for the time. I wanted to eventually switch to kings or icons.

5100s all the way around and an AAL ~$500
Still using stock coils, but just added rear 5100s. Necessary? Not REALLY... but it would be nice.

5100s with OME 885 coils and an AAL ~$475
Little bit better quality up front.

OME 885s with stock struts and AAL in rear ~$250
I don't particularly think you'll get the lift you want from just replacing the coils up front, I've never seen anybody do it.

What's your budget? What type of lifestyle/driving will you be using the kit for? Wheeling or Mall Crawlin'?

no offence OP but I think you need to be kind of happy with your truck quality before upgrading

I bought the base because I planned on lifting. why pay more for parts that will be coming off?

Thank you, sometimes I think about 285s but then again like my 300+miles per tank and the fact that I was able to keep all my mud flaps

My plan is to do light Offroad because my truck is only a 2WD. Thank you .

    Too many to list now.
I can get OME components as well OP so I'll thrown their name in the hat. ARB is no stranger to lift/comfort. In Alaska we have about a 20% failure rate on 5100's unfortunately. Not sure if its the cold getting to them or what but I've seen everything from the shocks dumping all their oil to the eyelets snapping off for no reason whatsoever.

With the OME lift you replace all your shocks with a non-adjustable, very sturdy absorber and then find a spring that accomodates your needs. Same for the rears. Just didnone yesterday and drove it back to the shop post alignment and was stunned in the difference of ride quality from my 2010 with about 5k in suspension. Its sort of apples and oranges but it really made me wish I had a comfy daily driver haha!

Would you mind posting the spec's of your lift?

I'm thinking about buying a new DCSB TRD OR in the near future and I'd like a quality modest lift with the same size Duratrac's.

Are UCA's needed with this setup?

Probaby not needed, but upgrading your uca's makes it a lot easier to get proper alignment specs. Some people who stick with 265 don't really have alignment issues with stock UCA'S, problems start when you go to 285+.
