Last summer, I did the Fox ride height adjustable front shocks and a 1" block with the Fox 2.0 shocks on the rear. It didn't lift much and I want to change it up. I'm looking at doing adjustable UCAs and keeping the Fox shocks on the front and rear, but replacing the rear springs.

(forgive me if this was covered, but I didn't notice it on another thread)

What rear 3" leaf springs are good? I see the ARB/EMU and the All Pro kits and wonder if the All Pro kit is just the ARB repackaged. What else is out there for a good progressive rate spring. Not a huge fan of ARB and I've read some reviews not liking the ride. 4 Wheel Parts says its a nicer, smoother ride than stock with the ARB. Any thoughts?

Go with the Dakar's. It lifted my DCSB 3 full inches. If you go this route just make sure you order new bushings for the leaf packs or make sure they are supplied.

I went with several people's suggestion and got the Emu Dakar springs while adjusting the front to match and changing out the UCA's with adjustable ones and doing the differential drop kit. I have to say... its pretty messed up. By messed up, drivability, control, and noises are crazy. 4 Wheel Parts told me the springs would ride nicer, but may limit the carrying capacity. I confirmed they would ride softer and paired with the Fox 2.0 shocks on the rear it should ride like its on marshmallows. Truth be told, the springs are so solid, there's little movement. Its sprung pretty tight. As far as a break in period... been through that, towed trailers and still as stiff as day one. I'll post another post about the Tacoma geometry, lifts and alignment.

Regardless... I'll probably go back to the stock leaf springs and a block and unlift the front and remove the diff drop. Just wanted to follow up on my my experience with the ARB Dakar springs. Not happy with them.

The Allpro Standard I heard were really good and it gives you a 3" lift. Also take into consideration that if you are using Fox 2.0 in the rear with standard ride height that they might be to short. You may need to get taller shocks for the rear 9.5" or so would correct it.

Saw the Deaver springs after the fact. I will look into those as well as the TRD springs they use on the TX Baja trucks. Its an extra leaf and slightly thinner with a little move movement.

I dunno who the hell told you that Dakars were going to ride like Marshmallows but they were obviously full of shit. They're pretty heavy springs. The All Pro 3" would have been softer, and the Expedition would probably be the hardest.

Krazie- agreed, full of shit. 4 Wheel Parts has great sales people. Seemingly some of the best in the business. They also don't understand geometry or a proper alignment, toe in, caster or camber and sure can't recognize it when driving as long as they can stuff bigger tires on something and park it on a curb.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
That's strange that the dakars ride stiff. Do you have any constant weight in the bed? Not that you should have to but it may help. And how did dakars give you a full 3" lift. Have you seen the 2nd gen Dakar thread. Those guys get 2.25-2.5" lift, so 3" is pretty high for those leaf springs. Do you have 5 leafs plus 2 overload leafs for a total of 7? Or did yours come with the AAL already installed for a total of 8 leafs? The AAL would make it ride stiff and would probably give you 3" lift especially if there is no weight. I have dakars and love them, but I'm on a first gen. But from the research I've done on both gens the dakars ride smooth

I attained a full 3" lift from the Dakar leaf pack. Both leafs packs I received from MetalTech had a plus symbol on them so they are above factory specs. They ride stiff but I like the stiffness, feels more like a truck.
