Searched the forums and turned up empty on the subject. Long story short the garage houses the exotic, and a classic, they unfortunately have priority over my new tacoma. I’m looking for an out door cover fitted or generic to an extent, that has maximum protection. Everything I found that’s decent is upwards of $400+...best ones or fitted are just about $500..that’s way too much if you ask me...any suggestion, recommendations or testimonials? I don’t mind up to $300 for best quality cover...and it’s oarked in front of my house, I don’t have a driveway leading to the rear or else I would’ve done a canopy. So canopy is out of the question. We get lots of wind in the canyon I live in so any canopy would become a kite or collapse not to mention too tacky in my neighborhood.

If it helps you make up your mind , I had what I thought was a good cover and after 3 months out side the paint on my 84 Jimmy was really wore / scuffed up at all corner edges while in the winter in Wisconsin . I would have been better of without a cover .

Like above a cover that's not a exact fit may not do much good. I had my old 2001 Honda s2000 sitting on base under a generic cover while deployed for 6 months and it did worse than the deployment prior with no cover.

The cover needs to be somewhat breathable, too. Too water tight, and you get water trapped underneath. You can imagine what that could do to a hunk of metal. For that reason, you see covers for $400+. You have a $40k truck and are complaining about a $400 cover?

But like said above, I would not use a cover. Wash and wax often.

Plus he has an exotic and a classic on the garage and a neighborhood where a carport would look tacky lol.
    OP, spend the $500.

If you look at Covercraft, they seem to have a wide selection starting around 180.

I purchased the Coverking ExtremeWeave for my ‘16 Sport through Costco. Very happy with it. It fit’s nice and snug, has the silver reflective outer shell, is breathable. I bought my 1st one 2 years ago when I first picked up my Taco. That lasted 2 years and was time for another. The fit is much better now and the material is thicker. I hope this one last another 2 or more years in the Hawaiian sun. I won’t hesitate to buy another one. Much cheaper than other brands. Costco online frequently has discounts on these. They run about $150 regular price. I got this last one in Dec. ‘17 when then had $50 off, paid $100.

Thank you to those who made suggestions and not baseless judgements. It’s not about what I have or where I live, we all work hard for our money and there is nothing wrong with trying to save some along the way. If it were OEM, then I would accept the market price I’ve mentioned, but these aren’t OEM. They are after market. I also don’t put covers on a dirty car as that will act as sand paper not to mention taint the inside of the cover even if the car is washed. More importantly, one cannot always keep up with the wax schedule and the sun out here scorches..please offer suggestions and lay off the opinions. I didn’t ask what do you think I should do...

This is a public forum. You can’t be that thin skinned. I didn’t think any of the comments were baseless or out of line. Best of luck to you.
