Pops told me that. Him and my Mum came to Canada to scratch out a better life for our family. It was tough going for a long time there.

"Always make sure your woman loves you more then you love her"

Advice given to me by my barber yesterday, was having a lil spat with my gf and she called and ignored the call 3 times so he asked me what was going on. lol he made a pretty good case and point to, cause if she loves you more then she'll stick with you through the worst of it.

I heard this on the golf channel, and is great advice for anyone learning to golf... or any sport for that matter...

Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
    Vince Lombardi

Think about it... you can practice all day long, but if you are doing it wrong, you won't get any better...

A quote a Guy at work told me:

"Women are smarter then men think they are, but they are no where near as smart as they think they are."

A very popular one in swimming (and other sports im sure) is the same concept: "practice makes permanent"

I think lately the most important advise given to me is that i am not defined by one swim or any swim for that matter, but how I handle myself afterwards.

And "adversity introduces a man to himself"
You find out alot about yourself in the manner in which you handle negative and positive issues. Alot of people think they are strong and well rounded because they can handle adversity, but what if you give that same person a
million dollars? How they behave then will also be a defining factor.

"Everything goes through a vomit stage."

From my art teacher in high school. I had a piece I was working on that looked like hell for a while. I don't think he meant this as commentary on life, but the more stages my life goes through, the more it seems to apply. ;)
