This is too logical and will never work. Obviously.

Just for reference... this is what a heavily modified Tacoma exhaust sounds like using a GoPro 5 Black... still nothing like a V8

Snorkel, URD Long Tube Headers, front cat delete, customized cross over, Vibrant Resonator, and Spintech 6000 muffler...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96F7RukPZuI

I've only ever heard one Tacoma that sounded like a V8. He swears it was the 4.0L in it still. But he basically just deleted all the cats, put heads on, and straight piped it true dual... it was beastly sounding but loud.

The guy who told me to try this route was an illogical muffler shop owner. Thankfully everything canceled itself out and i left with a plastidipped 4" tip on my factory exhaust.

I know about 10-11 people with tacos or t4rs and all but one has an aftermarket exhaust, with that one being my dad who’s 2 kids (me and my brother, before his taco was totaled) have modded exhausts. Then again, mine is a 4 cyl so pretty much anything will sound better, and I was going for a deeper than stock sound rather than loud.

Are you wanting a single exhaust or dual? Makes a difference! On my '97 with the 3.4 V6 I ran a 2.5" dual out below the rear bumpers with a angle cut on the chrome tips. Looked really good and sounded deep at idle. Back then I ran the Dyno(something) mufflers. Truck was a manual and when you reached between 2500-3000 RPM's it had a nice rap to it but not V8 sounding nor rice sounding. I am going to get some advice on mufflers for my sons 4.0 and run duals. I am not expecting wicked sound like from my Hemi but something somewhat close. I know......good luck!

THIS!! Videos never sound the same. All of them are record using different microphones, the speakers on computer/phone don't give it the same tone.
I wish I could of done this. What I did was wait until I found someone with a FJ cruiser(same engine as the v6 Tacoma) that had a sound I liked. At a red light I asked him what he had and I bought the same make/model muffler. I'm totally happy with my muffler.

Isn't that too big of piping? I was always taught, you need back pressure???

Meh, backpressure talk usually gets ping pong results with scavenging.
