2001 prerunner

My truck has 320,000 miles and it’s been having a transmission shudder at idle the truck shakes and on cold starts the transmission whines and shifts poorly. The oem converter is nearly $1400 and that’s a steep price. I try to keep everything oem but it in today’s world that price is to high for me so I’m wondering who all has replaced the converter on a 2.7L double cab 2wd prerunner and what converter did you use?
