What you get for putting maple syrup on it... Don't do that to the 4R.

SR5 since you can get it with 4x4 and Navigation. OR is way overpriced IMO.

From your list, Most bang for your buck is the Offroad. My gut feeling is an unmolested one will also hole resale better as well. But if your not going offroad, then the $$$ parts are pointless. The sport would be a better choice for onroad, and in 2x4 depending on winter conditions. If you want to build a serious offroad vehicle, then start with the SR5.

True! I paid 31.8k for my 2015 DCSBOR Auto with 14k on odo. Wasn't ready for a 3rd gen though and no blue ribbon metallic made me sad.

The prices are very firm on the 15's but there is definitely some room to wiggle. A lotta people seem to want them. (hook line sinker for me):D

2nd gens are piled up on dealer lots, pretty sure they would rather sell a new vehicle than a used, because they won't budge on the high prices.

Private party 2nd gens are like 10g's less than dealers.

Oh well. 10yr/100k warranty doesn't come with private sales though. Still has original warranty too. First yota and truck at that. My brother had a similar one too God rest his soul.

Depends on where you live too.

Well be sure to lick it off good before you leave it alone, or else it'll get gone too.

A 4x4 SR5 with the tow package meets your requirements. Just be sure to replace the stock tires with some better rubber.

If however you want more creature comforts, there are many more options you can buy in the OR, PRO, LTD, and Sport. Kinda depends on how much money you want to blow.

I'm with the consensus here - OR for sure if you plan to keep it stock. I'm obviously partial though. If you plan on lifting then start with the SR5 and add lockers.

Unless you're able to drive 55mph with your truck stuck in 4th, you'll want a MT.

DCSB TRDOR is what you're looking for then.

Definitely Offroad. Sport has to be least, due to the bug differences being cosmetic.
