I was fishing on a business trip in Illinois this week. This is a lake on property owned by a hunting lodge. Nobody as fished here in a very long time until I came along. Easily 50+ bass in a total of 5 hours split between one evening on day one and early morning on day 2. There were so many fish I just started laughing. No huge bass but the action and quantity was unreal.

I dont peg, bobber stop or split shot for largemouth. Which baits are better than others? Wow.. it really depends upon the conditions and what I am targeting. I will say that the one bait that has done an awesome job for me over the past 5 months is a chrome square bill

The one I have is made by Sebile and I cannot find it anywhere anymore. It is mostly chrome with a blue stripe running down its back. I caught largemouth, pickerel, crappie, yellow perch, striped bass (ocean), bluefish all in the same month on that lure. One of the bass in this video was caught with it. You can see the lure here....

The one I have is not "silent" Lots of rattles. Make sure that what you buy has lots of noise.

not exactly but close enough. Mine did not have that thin yellow stripe. I am sure that would work. I love the flashiness of the chrome and I think the fish do too... then the loud rattles probably gets a reaction

If you are fishing clear water the rattles may be too much, have a silent as well.

This is very close in appearance to the lure my wife and I call "old faithful". Seems to catch the attention of a lot of fish. We have five now.
