I am NOT surprised that a guy that lets other people install his battery also tells other people to stop thread jacking.

    Go cry somewhere else lol.

It is my opinion that at one time, specific brands of batteries were considered better than most others.

These days with all of the rebranding/repackaging, it simply comes down to the luck of the draw.

One group of owners will tell you that Battery A is the best and another will say they're trash.

Hot weather, poor maintenance, faulty alternator, overloading with electrical accessories and lots of short trips will kill any battery, regardless of cost.

Duralast from Autozone is the exact OEM battery in my 2nd generation.

Any Toyota dealer has these clamps. Most keep them right at the counter. They are cheap.

I believe you are saying that the Duralast battery is identical to the factory battery that came with your truck when new. If so, how do you know this?

That's why expensive batteries are a waste,a cheap Autozone battery with a 72 month warranty is better than a expensive battery with a 12 month.

Factory lasted nearly ten years. Toyota replaced it for free when they replaced the frame 3 years ago. So far so good

Convert it to a 31 series deep cycle. Did that n wont go back. They sell them at RV shops or truck shops. 1000 cca and really good reserve capacity. I'm running 2 cat batteries.

For my needs, it needs to be AGM and at least a 27, preferably a 31M. I run accessories and a fridge as well as off-road. I need a tough battery with a long reserve capacity.

    I’ll actually give an answer-

IMO XSPower batteries are great. Have not owned but all the audiophiles use them and off-road guys as well.

The store “batteries plus” sells their brand of batteries and I abused it with 2k rms to some sundowns and enough rocklights to illuminate the abyss on my old truck and it never let me down. It would get low but always recharge and always start my truck.

Expect to spend around $200 for these high end options. Buy once cry once right?:D:annoyed:

Both are made by Johnston Controls. They look exactly the same. I don’t remember exactly where I read that 5 years ago. Seriously go after the cheapest. The electrons are the same. Twice the price will only get you like 10% more life. Keep it charged and filled correctly with water and you’ll get the longest life. Hot engine bays destroy batteries.

Sears is shutting down so it’s no longer a viable option. O’reilly and Autozone sell the exact same battery with different labels.
