I never actually used the Thule model, but it sure looks like the right deal to me. The guy even quotes "half price" of new. I'd be all over it! Good find!

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Awesome deal. Make sure he has the rubber strips! The is a chanel in the top and bottom of the crossbar. The chanel is so the stops can slide and so the racks are universal and can be built to different widths. If you do not put the black rubber strips in (i dont see them in the picture) that thing will wistle so loud on the highway it will drive you crazy. For that price i would buy it without the rubber and order it from thule.

I am picking up the exact same rack as you have, I think, today from a guy in NH (craigslist)......295 bucks and the guy said he never actually installed them on his truck, so, like new.

hey guys, got my thule rack on my tacoma. took me a while, because a couple of the clamps that hold the bases to the rails on the tacoma had broken bolts, so, had to order new ones.

put my boat up on the rack today, 12' Meyers, aluminum, weighs probably 100-125lbs. it's upside down and bow forward on the truck......i centered the boat on the rack, so.....about 3-3.5 feet of the boat bow hangs over the cab of the truck......tied it down good, did a test drive..........got up to 50mph, the boat stayed on, lol, .....no rattles.........but, i am wondering if the bow of the boat should be supported on the cab of the truck......it actually sits only about 3 inches above the cab as is, and the rack is set at it's highest position. I'm planning on taking the boat to florida with me after christmas, so, we're talkin maybe 4,000 miles in a couple months there, mostly at highway speeds......oh, also towing a 2500 lb pop up camper. Maybe i should take a pic tomorrow and post here ?

btw, not sure what model of the thule rack I have....because there are only two positions, low and high........and low in not possible because the legs hit the sides of the bed liner

I must have an earlier model of Thule rack, because I have only two slots in the rack legs, high and low.

How’s the 12 foot boat fit in bed? Do you use a bed extender?
