I drool over the 1st gen Tacoma! The original taco is too 80's style and square. The 2nd gen is overly bulky and looks like it's trying too hard. Even if I had the 20k to spend, id go for 1st gen every time. Anyone thinking about upgrading to the 2nd gen? Anyone with a 2nd gen thinking of "downgrading"?

I'm real happy with my 99' TRD... that's not saying much since my last vehicle was a 01' Ford Explorer so the Taco pretty much blew that out of the water

1st gen = off road prowess

    2nd gen = urban prowess

1st gen is for those unconcerned about their penis size
and want a smaller, nimble, capable off road/trail truck.

2nd gen is for those compensating ;) :p

    wait for it :crapstorm:

I absolutely love my 03 Double Cab, but the 2nd Gen are definitely a more "comfortable" truck and the 4.0L is nice. However, there is something about my 1st Gen that just works (the combination of size/functionality/looks), and I would not trade for the newer truck.

I agree. I think the 1st gen is the better off-road platform to build from.

A little jealous are we? Haha

Not everyone buys a Tacoma to offroad and trail ride. I like both, I bought my first Tacoma in 2005 and test drove the last year 1st gen and the 2nd gen. Really liked both, 1st gen looked better and had more options. (TRD offroad) 2nd gen was newer and had more power(base) went with 2nd gen for the engine and just because it was newer and wouldn't depreciate as fast.

Why can't we just let everyone enjoy their Tacoma for their own reasons? Sometimes I wonder if these threads are started just to get people in a pissing match.

so what... I have a big penis and roll around in a small truck.
    neither causes me embarrassment ;)

"adequate" is just another word used to describe "small" [IMG] Lol

    good luck with adequate :notsure:
^ a decent bankroll should compensate some [IMG]

I'd take a first gen over a second gen any day, BUT, the first gens are too small on the inside. My legs are cramped.

So, maybe all of you first gen guys talking about having big dicks only think you do because your body is so small? :D

I think you may be confused. People who drive huge diesels are compensating. Men who drive the best selling mid-size truck, regardless of generation, are completely confident with the size of their dick. In fact, I drive a pre runner so therefore I am extremely confident. :bananadance:

I love my 96, Ill keep it as long as possible. I would definitely own a 2nd gen, but the first gens just have that special spot for me.
