I think mobtown is as northeast as you’re gonna get unless you go to a smaller local shop

Typical. Maryland is too north for the southerners and to south for the northerners. Only 1/2 the places in this state have sweet tea! I’m not talking about that raspberry tea bullshit either.
    :annoyed:

PS. We are in DE now. It’s basically the same location but without sales tax. They just tax us by giving out speeding tickets like crazy.

Haha. Only a little. I lived over that way for 6 years. The whole state is like that. No sales tax but they trap you for revenue anyway they can.

I would not want to be able to chew my sweet tea. So you go right ahead and chew on whatever floats your boat.. and I'll drink my sweet tea without chunks of foreign matter in it. :)

Mobtown must have had too many issues shipping powder coat. Looks like that option is reserved for pick/install only now.

It's tough, I wouldn't fault MobTown at all for that. When we ship powder coated sliders, they take a completely different packaging process that takes considerable time to do over bare steel.

Are you guys putting a layer of something between the plate and the frame with these so they don't rust together or increase rust with trapped water/salt? I live in rust country and just got a new frame in March. Picking up my SOS sliders from Fastenal in the morning. I was thinking a layer of grease, my coworker said Por15. Thoughts/suggestions welcome

I know one guy who put a bunch of anti seize. Time will tell if that works. Other than that, just periodic maintenance. Remove them annually and check the frame for rust spots and touch up as needed.

I went weld on and an unintended benefit is lower maintenance in that regard.

Thanks @EatSleepTacos I'm going to go with a good layer of paint and a periodic removal I think. See how they fair early in the winter. If I notice anything, maybe try some kind of barrier

Having one of my fav fab guys in in SoCal build me a set of sliders (beast fab) and I’m torn between the two kick out styles. I thought I really wanted the less archy style but after seeing some pics I’m completely 50/50. Any technical advantages to either one?

Are those your only options? A one piece outer tube with a more gradual kick out will be the most beneficial. It’ll allow it to slide around stuff easier. And this design is stronger, with the one piece and straight legs

Ya there is a one piece design with no kickout. I opted for the one on the left. I’ll post when installed. $680 powder coated and installed

Looking for a very low profile set of bolt on sliders that don’t stick out much. Any suggestions? Also, do sliders that bolt on the frame require drilling or are there preexisting holes? Thank you.
