Don't take it the wrong way but what product was our instructions poor on so I can see about improving it? I spend a stupid amount of time to try to make the best, most clear instructions possible.

I don't know if I really understand why you would need the kickouts for shopping carts. A regular flat rail should do what you described fine

Do the weld on. There are absolutely no benefits to bolt on, and the weld on are stronger and will do the job properly. On top of that bolt on cost more which makes them even worse.

    Sure there are.

1.) You don't have to know how to weld to install them...or pay someone to weld them on.

2.) You can remove them easily if you decide to get rid of the truck...or if some jackass turns in front of you and you t-bone them and total your truck. Then you can easily put them on your next Taco.

3.) If your frame rots out and Toyota recalls it, you can take the sliders off and not have to argue with them about whether or not welding on your frame contributed to the rust problem.

If anything, there are very few downsides to bolt on sliders (assuming they are designed well, which many aren't). Sure there is added cost up front, but if you have to pay someone to weld on your sliders, it is almost a wash.

You can remove them if they are welded as well. Plus you get the strength they are designed for.

Not paying to weld them on? Yeah maybe you got me there but you will still be in cheaper to pay someone to weld them than how much bolt on cost.

Just out of curiosity, which particular weld-on sliders are you referencing and what would be the typical cost to hire someone to weld them on?

Best brand is subjective. As far as weld cost I paid 100 but could have shopped around for less.

I didn't ask for best, I asked for an example since you seemed to have some in mind already.

Your aluminum skids were a little lacking, in that the instructions we meant for the steal version and didn't highlight the differences very well. Particularly the xfer case skid (older version, heard you updated the design), the cross member had holes the skid didn't. I had to look at pictures to see what was supposed to be where not rocket science just annoying. I also have your bed bars, when I got them there were zero instructions on your site. Had to look at the pictures to figure how the bag of bolts was supposed to be used. Again it wasn't rocket science, just would have been easier with a little picture diagram or something. All in all good products. The xfer case skid is the only piece is not still working. Took a trip to the AOP with that low-hanging cross member on a stock truck. I dragged it across a lot of rocks and bent the crap out of it. But it did its duty, I removed it to eliminate the vibration from exhaust rubbing against it. Of course, now I'm considering getting the exhaust reroute done to fix that issue.

Have you ever had to remove welds to get something off? I have and it was a PITA! Grinding a good weld off a set of sliders would take forever. My bolt-on sliders have all the strength they need. I've put them to the test at the AOP! And the extra cost for my bolt-on vs weld-on sliders was only $40, and that is due to the extra hardware you get with bolt-ons. You'd be real hard pressed to find someone that isn't friend or family to weld them on for $40. Plus if you weld onto your frame as Jowybyo mentioned it can cause you problems with Toyota honoring their warranty. We all should know Toyota dealers have gotten very tight about honoring the warranty after the truck has been modified... I know several people who have had issues completely unrelated to their mods that had to fight with the dealer to get them to honor the warranty.

X2 or X3. Not sure how many relentless votes have been posted. Not only your budget but also your time frame will drive your decision. I had to wait like 4.5 months and well worth it. IMG_1657.jpg

PM me. We did redesign the skids. Much cleaner install and now that we offer reroute that'll help you too. You'll gain about 1-1/2" ground clearance. I'll see what I can do to take care of you.

didn't read thread. Have Mobtown bolt on sliders, and wheel regularly in very rocky areas. They are sturdy as can be and I trust them 100% to protect my truck!

As for drilling the three holes, that was a derp on my part. Somehow when I nested the parts in the laser it missed those three holes. I never noticed and shipped them out. Caught it after someone messaged me showing me what was up. Very sorry about that.
