my BIL now has my old 2007 Tacoma base, it has 160k and he wants to replace the coilovers and rear shocks. Does not want anything other that a stock ride, this is a work/commuting vehicle.
There are kits all over ama zon , but he really doesnt know which one to consider, he wants to be as cost effective as posible.
    ANy suggestions?
    Thanks !

I had a shop put Monroe shocks in the rear, and I ordered the preloaded Monroe on Amazon that should be in my truck by next weekend. I can try and remember to come back here and let you know how they feel. I was just going for a good budget option for everyday driving.

Rear shocks were 145 installed, front struts were just under $100 per, and then $200 for a shop to install them. The installations of these are fairly simple though i've heard, I just don't have any tools to do it myself.

If you can avoid the shop, $200 for preloaded struts and another $100 for the rear shocks is about as cheap as it will get. Both items on Amazon had good reviews.

Yea, I just bought a pair of take offs, stock yellow Bill's F&R with less than 5K for $50.00. I would have given him $100 but not more. I'm in a populated area and there must be 6-8 Craig's list ads for take offs from $100-$300. Know what you are looking at!

Eibach makes some decent ones. More of a non-offroad (?) style

I'd put Rancho QuickLift coilover. 2 inches of front lift.

So then put Rancho RS5000 all around. That's what I have.

Just replace the front shock. Rear were $50 on Amazon, and front were $90 at 4wheelParts.

I replaced them during November 2017. My truck is a 2008, and had 46,000 miles, my coils were in good shape.

In that case, get the Quicklift. The lift will just level out the truck, nothing extreme. You have pictures of your rig?
