I wanna see what all these smack talkin haters trucks look like in 2035 when their 2nd gen tacos are the age of that truck & then talk about what's capable & what's not. Who cares how ugly it is, look at the fun! Post up pics of those 05-10 2nd gens then. No, I don't care for a few things on that 79-81 but it has earned quite a bit of due respect for it's age & obvious remaining capabilities. And I'm not biased a bit since just stepping out of an 82 in January still fully functional prerunner. These bastards rock, no matter how ugly! Diggin that skull camo. Behold, the nightly news paint scheme, lol..........

New Pioneer stereo, and all 4 speakers with Infinity components. Sirius satellite radio. Deckplate mod done. Door buzzer silenced forever thank God, tinted windows, vent visors, hood protector(bug guard), ceramic pads and new rotors, dechromed EVERYTHING. 2" Lift front 3" rear. Skyjacker AAL's and replacement leafs(and front spacers) from Fatbobsgarage.com. Skyjacker 7000 Hydro rear shocks, those Bilstein 5100 fronts are coming soon!
Hell, my 81 hilux was a bondo mobile, 389K miles, 5 speed with nothing but 4wd. That thing ran better than my ex girlfriends 6 year old Honda Accord. Never broke down, and took an ass kicking. I liked those old pickups.

pirate flags are the norm in real redneck trucks, not fake wanna be rednecks. I went to West Palm beach, FL. to see Brad paisley/Dierks Bentley with the wife, and the tailgaters out in the parking lot was a different world, pirate flags, rebel flags, Florida state flags, drunk rednecks, beer bottles everywhere, big ass trucks, it was frickin awesome. So the pirate flags are not out of the ordinary.

This is exactly what was running through my head when I started reading this thread. Minus the spider web, that truck is very capable and quite bad ass IMO.

This the point of having a beater looking trail rig or just daily driver you won't have to worry about getting nicked or dinged or stolen............minus the spider web & tailgate graphics, lol.

Whatever floats his boat, is his call to have float it. My wife wouldn't allow me to have said cammo on my ride (and I prefer my red) - but I still think it looks cool.

It is gay. The camo job and suspension work is very cool and respectable because it was done correctly. The other aesthetic modifications are just plain stupid and pointless

Actually, if you plan on running in deep water, you need to elevate the exhaust....

You can see how I routed the exhuast on my "Ghey" off roader:
