They all claim to be the best of the best, but what are your experiences with caps. I am looking at purchasing a Leer 100XQ, a A.R.E. Z series, or a Century Ultrasport. I have had trucks for many years but had absolutely no experience with caps and was just wondering from buyers views what is the best quality. I know that Leer prices are outrageous but not aware of the other 2 prices.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I've had caps on all my trucks. The quality today is alot better than in the past and any decent maker you've heard about would be fine; just pick the style you like.

I chose an ARE cap this time and like it very much. Buy a cap WITHOUT a forward slant (higher at the rear, lower at the front) because when snow and ice melt it slides forward and damages your truck cab! Oouch and $$.

I'm liking those sliding canvas tops too so you can haul tall loads.

Personally, I'd like to try the canvas slider.

    Good luck.

just a warning, all of these "WHAT IS THE BEST______ " threads all turn out to be the equivalent to basically asking what kind of _______ do you have, because everyone thinks what they have is best. it happens with lifts, tires, rims, grills.... really look into what kind of function you need from your cap and go from there. post up here what you want from it and have members chime in on if there's does it well or not, and pics will help as well

The one I am considering is the Leer 100XQ. I have recently had a promotion at work and will be on the road carrying commercial food equipment and tons of literature regarding the equipment. I want something that is styled nicely due to it being on my personal truck but I also can not have any leaks do to the books I will be carrying.

I had an ARE on my last truck and liked it. Got a Snugtop with new truck and LOVE it. Pricey, though. I hunt dirt roads. The Snugtop is much better at keeping out dust. I really like the light that comes on when glass opens. I like covered keyhole as ARE cap key seized a lot. The rain gutter is also very nice. You have to see one to understand how it works.
