Anybody have any recommendations for the best infant car seat to fit in the rear of an Access Cab?

I know it's not ideal so please don't tell me to buy a new truck. That's not in the cards right now and we'll mostly be using my wife's 4 door car for baby hauling. Just need an option for when it's only me and the kiddo. I also have no concerns about sliding the passenger seat all the way forward to make space.

I remember years ago before I even considered kids stumbling across several posts where there were some more compact baby seat models that everyone swore by for the tacoma but I can't find those threads anymore.

    Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

^ This one might be of interest. I know it's not AC or 2nd Gen, but some good ideas and links to other threads.

I'd see if a Britax Convertible would fit if the passenger seat is cranked all the way forward. https://us.britax.com/choosing-a-car-seat
Congrats if there's one on the way! I had the same conundrum, I'd never have thought I'd make this a consideration, but when it came to getting my New To Me Tacoma, this exact question was what made me shift my search from Access Cab Long Bed to Double Cab Long Bed ultimately. You can make it work!

Thanks! I'll dig though that thread. We are expecting our first this spring! When I bought my Access Cab in college 11 years ago I figured I'd have a new/different truck long before kids were a concern. I always referred to it as the "single dude" model.

I have zero intentions of ever getting rid of my Access Cab, I've maintained it too well and put too much work into getting it the way I want. We do plan to get one of the new Land Cruisers in the next few years so I'm just looking for a stopgap solution. Then the Tacoma will be more of a weekend toy/snow driving/hauling stuff rig. It's always nice/handy to have a pickup.

Totally get it. When I started looking for a Tacoma, kids weren't in the picture, it only happened to coincide with that possibility by the time I was able to actually buy one (only reason I made the jump to DC). Even so you'll see people joking about getting the Tundra "mod" to fit a car seat. Where there's a will, there's a way. Keep that Taco as long as it lasts. Grats!
