    Focal's FTW.

I have these and they are freaking amazing.

    http://pacificstereo.com/focal-165-...trk=gdfV2644_a_7c759_a_7c9104_a_7c165_a2s_V30

I run them with a Rockford T-400.4 and they get loud enough that my wife will get out of the truck.. And she runs a 1800watt system in her Civic so she is used to really loud stereo's.

I'll never not buy Focal mids/highs again. I have nothing bad to say about them in any way at all.

ya for my components im looking to spend nothing past 200$ from my guy, which means they should msrp for around 400$ depending.. alpines seem perfect

also for the dynamat, definitely gonna put that in when i upgrade my speakers... come to think of it, i may just put it in now with my stockies that way itll already be in when i put in my components... i kno it'll hardly make a difference with the stocks, but it'll save me a step later on
if i had the money i would buy focals cuz i know they are the best lol... if i were to get focals tho, i would get the K2 series and those are craaazy $$$ lol

Save up man. I'd rather wait a year to have an amazing system then get one now and have an 'ok' system.

But I'd also rather be blind then def if that shows you how important audio is to me.

hahaha i agree thats the way to go in the long term, im an audiophile at any means though, i just need a good system that will get loud enough and i can bump my dub and D&B... i think the alpines will be great, but who knows, maybe by the time im able to upgrade my speakers, i'll have enough for those sexy focals haha

I ran all Alpine Type-r's for mid's/highs when I first bought my integra just to remove stock speakers.. Great budget speakers if you ask me.

I'd give em more credit than a budget speaker that's for sure. Not the best on the market, but certainly a respectable speaker. Id say high end entry level speaker, or low end mid level speaker. Certainly better than about 90% of other speakers you'll find at a retailer like best buy. Betted than Polk, RF, Pioneer, even Infinity Kaapa series IMO.

I've never really liked the Type Rs.... too tinny sounding. Hard on the ears.

Infinity Kapps are like that to me. Sounded like the tweeters were housed inside a soda can.

My issue with Type-R's is the tweeters are set to high. But a -3db drop and they sound nice.

My focals were like that for the longest time. Took my door panels off the other day and checked my crossovers... the driver side was at +3 and passenger side -3  how that happened is beyond me. I must have been drunk or something when that happened. Set both at 0. Much better now. Some would prefer -3 but I like really bright highs.

    show-off

Lol. Soon enough my friend. Give me a couple months, then one day you'll walk outside and begin hearing the most mesmerizing sound you've ever heard. You'll stop and ask yourself "what could this be, this beautiful noise I hear?" Then you'll remember reading this and go "oh... Anthony must have upgraded to his focal k2 3-ways and Alpine processor and Jl w3's"

Haha. I'll keep dreaming for now

Do they fit the stock front of a 2012 taco? Any special trimming has to be done? Can the tweeter be (installed) hidden? Which model of the R?

Also, I have listen to focals before. It was power by something like 80 rms but dam it sounded so nice!! For those who don't want crazy bass, a sub might not be needed.

Another vote for -3 on the R's. That's what I have mine set at, 0 was a bit harsh.

thats the 4th time someone recommended -3.. looks like thats what im going to try first... just to be on the safe side tho; alpine type r's fit in a 2006 stock location right? (non Jbl if that matters)
