I have removed all the previous owners decals off my truck with minimal damage and i am happy with the result, I am just wondering how i should go about removing the decal outlines without re-painting, you can see the outline of the decals because the paint that was underneath is less dull than the paint that has been exposed, is there a certain cut polish i should use or a certain way to wax??

I used to own a mobile auto detail business and on all my cars since I started driving I am a huge fan of Meguiars Cleaner wax . It not only cleans your paint it also waxes it . It is in a red can or red bottle . I debadged my Tacoma and used Meguiars cleaner wax and you cant tell of the goasting of were the lettering was . use a cotton cloth and rub it in the place you are needing , let dry:cool: for ten min then buff it out with a clean dry cloth .

It is like seven dollars a can or bottle , you may have to do it twice depending how bad it is . And the wax does wonders if you have a film on your headlight bezels from oxidation . Takes out fine scratches , that also may need to be done 2 or three times .

Most folks in the auto detailing community like Meguiars........Generally speaking :), you'll hear all kinds of preferences and there are all kinds of exotic products. Hey, even WalMart stocks Meguiars :)

I'm also a little of a detailing nut, and for widely available, store brands Meguiar's is the way to go, although you really need a polish and not just a cleaner wax if your paint isn't in perfect condition (which it sounds like yours isn't). Something with a light cut should do the trick. Wax is not the tool to buff out residue, scratches, imperfections. Wax should go on a perfectly cleaned and prepped coat of paint.

If you really want it to be effective, invest in a polisher like the Porter Cable 7424x. It will do truly amazing things to your paint!

For whatever it is worth, distilled white vinegar will remove sticker goo, water spots, etc. It will also remove wax though, so be sure to re-wax afterwards!
