I had watched a YouTube video on this dash cam and haven’t seen much about it on here so figured I’d post it. This is a FitcamX dash cam for the taco. It takes place of the cover for the TSS power behind the rear view mirror. It’s real sleek and hides the camera very well. No crazy wires everywhere or anything. There is an option for a rear camera but does require a wire. It comes with a SD card and thumb drive. This is a legit lil dash cam.

My wife likes the Fitcam because it is seamless in her car. Doesn't notice it, and nothing interferes with it. I'm running a front/rear Red Tiger 4K that keeps me honest because it's got GPS speed and location built in, but it sees everything.

Usually assholes behind me surfing Facebook while they drive.

I received my fitcamx this weekend. Installed it and it does not power on (no lights and the app on my iphone does not recognize it; therefore, no power). The install is idiot proof... :annoyed:

Make sure the power plug is seated. Otherwise just dumb luck that you got a defective one. Thankfully the install is 2 minutes

Does it have supercapacitor on that fitcam? Vantrue and rexing shut down due to heat. I live in Florida so 5min on in truck while parked and it overheats. @CaptAmerica

That is a good question, I will check. However, in this case I was installing in early this morning at 75 degrees.

Are you installing the hardwire kit for parking?

Hardwire for all uses. This literally should have been a 5-10 minute install.

Does it overheat quickly while being parked. I live in Florida and have gone through two cams and lost $30 on one due to restock and shipping fees. But if this fitcam works like a champ, I want to get one. Too many crazy drivers and road ragers.

Fitcamx for me for several months now and no issues. Easy install and looks factory. D82C5997-67B8-4381-8A83-C04B8547C249.jpg 189C935E-EDB4-49AE-92AA-4EF529D9A12B.jpg B2259440-67B7-4BC4-A960-A3967937F1E8.jpg

This is exactly why I purchased it. I will just have them send me another one.

I also have one on my 2021 taco and sometimes forget I have one. It looks factory and video quality is really good. Highly recommend it to those that are looking for one.

Is there any way to physically deactivate WiFi on these when you're not requiring it?

This thing seems perfect in every regard, but as I work in a computer-security related field I have a tinfoil-hat-paranoia of WiFi devices like this. They typically have extremely poor security and are always-on.

You only need the wifi when you want to connect to it to grab footage. Other than that, don't connect to it and it will still record every second of your trip.
