Ok, I've gotten and installed the Redtiger camera, installed the Ucam app, and I am happy as a clam. MUCH better than my old one.

The only thing I had to overcome was creating a special clip to attach the rear camera to the headliner without drilling holes, but once I did everything worked immediately. Very happy with the results.

I have the Garmin Mini 2. Tiny, came with a cord long enough to run around the headliner/behind the glovebox/under the center console to the USB ports in the center console (I have a SR so no power in the mirror).

The viofo A129 pro duo is a really good dash cam that a lot of people use and have great experience with. There’s a thread on Reddit all about dash cams you could check out called r/dashcam that has a lot of info.

I have this one and have been mostly happy with it.
I was too lazy to hardware to get parking mode, so used an ODI adapter. That works pretty well unless the truck sits unused for ~48 hours, then It somehow cuts power to the camera (to save the battery) like it's supposed to. Problem is when i start the Truck... the camera won't come back on correctly and needs to be rebooted (via unplugging in).

Well, there goes the weekend. I have a Blackvue 2 channel and a plex server. Time to pick up some software. Thanks for the tip!

How do you like it the Garmin Mini 2, does it work well? does it transfer to your phone or do you have to use a cable to the phone? Trying to buy one but research and first hand knowledge is great. So Thanks ahead of time for your comments.

I have the same camera and use the Viofo factory hardwire harness. No problems like you describe. Is the "ODI" adapter the thing that plugs into the OBD diag port?

I have been using a DDPAI Mini-3 for 2 1/2 years with no issues. Has a capacitor rather than battery so no overheating issues and also has 32gb storage built in. Video quality is excellent and uses smart phone app or pc with micro USB to transfer videos and snapshots. Had it hardwired in my 2019 and moved it to my 2021. Hard to beat for this price. They have a Mini-5 available now.

I have an older Blackvue DR750S-2CH with a Cellink Battery Pack. Parking mode lasts about 20 hours in Timelapse mode.

In the spec sheet it says a 256gb SD Card is the max, but I have 512gb in it for the past 3 years that works just fine, which gives me about a 3 weeks worth of recordings. With the Blackvue Downloader mentioned above, all my recordings automatically backup into my NAS server.

I have been pretty happy with my purchase, and plan to upgrade to the newer DR750X-3CH

I like it - unobtrusive and basically don't notice it's there. I hit the button on it when someone screws up to save the clips, then look at the clips once every few months for amusement.

There is an app that will wirelessly transfer the files into your phone, I think they also have paid online storage you can subscribe to. You can also take the SD card out and put it in a card reader. I do that sometimes if we are on a trip, like I will dump the files from the entire day into my laptop and then make a time-lapse.

Did you follow a guide for the install? Looking to do the same on my SR but I've never wired a camera like that before.

No, I just started at the console, pushed the wire out of the hole, then fished it along behind the center console trim next to the seat, then up under the glovebox, out around the door trim, then tucked it behind the rubber, then behind the headliner, passing behind the mirror, then over to the camera.

The trim on the side of the console is flexible and will pull out enough so that you can grab the cable to fish it through. Once you get it pulled up to the glove box area, just tuck it all in behind the trim. I probably need to put 1 or 2 zip ties on it behind the glove box because it will fall down every few months.

Nothing fancy at all, but let me know if you need more info and I will take a few pictures.

Have a StreetGuardian SG9663DCPRO that I bought new December 2019.

It's losing focus which apparently is a common issue due to heat or something. Only way to adjust the focus is open the camera and turn the lens slightly, which I'm not going to try.

    Probably try a BlackVue next.

What is the percentage of tint added to the front windows to match the back windows?

I wish I could tell you. When I went there, all I said to the installer was, “match the rears as much as possible without making it illegal (here in MA),” and he said, “Rodger that.”
