It’s perfect. Ive had a Blackvue 750 in the past. Its every bit as good and has better resolution than the 750 , and the app is simple to use. The best part is that its completely hidden.

There is also an option to turn off sound recording for people who prefer not to document any conversations/phone calls while in use.

You can either use the app on your phone (I don't) or put the SD card in a card reader in a computer. I like downloading entire days of footage and making timelapse movies on the computer. I think there is a way to subscribe and have it automatically sync with their cloud service but I didn't feel like paying for another service.

I just dump the saved clips of people screwing up to the computer every couple of months or so with a card reader (laptop has the right size built-in).

The timelapses are kind of fun to do, with a 128 GB card it can hold about two days of footage

I am very interested in the Nexar one because of its cloud steam and push notifications… if someone starts breaking into your car or even steals the cam/card, it saves the video to the cloud and you can stream it. Has anyone tried this? https://us.getnexar.com/the-dash-cams/one/

My first choice at the moment is the Viofo A229 front/rear combo. They're both 2K cameras, I've seen pretty good reviews on Viofo, and I like that they've finally switched to USB-C for the connection on this model, where the previous versions had the very outdated USB mini connector. It's got a parking mode cable available too, though I haven't decided if I'm going to add that yet or not.

I was looking at the Fitcamx but when I tried to install the app you have to agree to sharing your personal data. Deal breaker for me

I'm using the Nexar beam Nexar Beam GPS Dash Cam | HD Front Dash Cam | 2022 Model | 32 GB SD Card Included | Unlimited Cloud Storage | Parking Mode | WiFi https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZPGSKLS

I like it because it uploads footage to my phone over self created wifi when it's recorded instead of me pulling the SD card.

I 've just had the Toyota dash camera installed on my 2023, and so far it has been very troublesome. I've got it to properly record a test drive once now over the last few days of driving. I've tried a second SD card, which worked for the one drive, then the next time out, the 2 LED's where lit up and it did not record my drive again. Will test out on the drive home again tonight, otherwise I'll be contacting the dealership on Monday, to say what's up.....

FitCamX, easy install, looks like an oem camera and you can forget it as it records. It can be downloaded to your phone anytime.

I have run NextBase 522 GW since moving to AZ. Alexa, GPS for speed/location, 4k recording and as of my edition says 128 GB micro SD allowing 8 hrs of looped recording. Many more features. I like it because the base attached to the window with a rear-view-mirror class sticky pad, and the camera is attached to that with a magnetic mount so it can be removed leaving mostly-flat window for sun reflectors or just to take it away from where thieves can see it. Also a 622 model with features I decided I did not need but cannot recall. I run a class 10 90 MB/sec card because without a fast enough card the entire units becomes unresponsive and cannot record 4k video.

    EDIT: Sold at Best Buy.

Garmin may have fixed these, but I tried Garmin years ago and found these features deficient:
    > At startup takes 30 seconds to 1 minute on "license warnings" which are fine on GPS navigation units but recording needs to start NOW!
    > Counted 20 events in one 10 mile stretch of a rough freeway, no option to change its sensitivity from HYPER to NORMAL

Alu-cab canopy and rear jumpseat delete.
I am supposing this doesn't work with SR Tacos.

I installed a Mercylion integrated dashcam in my Tacoma, and it was pretty easy to install. It's a great value for the price, and it records in 1440p front and 1080p rear, so you can capture both the road ahead and behind you. It also has a built-in GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, making it easy to share your footage with others.

I have the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 and it works well. It doesnt have a screen and it sits behind the rear view mirror. Barely noticeable

When I followed the link to the website it does not list the Toyota Tacoma model. Which camera works in the Tacoma?

All depends on your needs and budget

Companies send me their dash cams for testing/reviews, so my windshield is usually cluttered with them

For me, the more camera angles, the better

Here's are some videos comparing 3 different setups from when some lady in a Tahoe rear ended me....
