    That is unnecessary if you adjust your charge voltage as mentioned in this thread below. If you do not adjust your charge voltage, then yes you should use an AGM battery maintenance charger. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-northstar-agm-battery-voltage-booster-upgrade.604478/

    Yes, this was a 1st Gen thread, didn’t notice you were 3rd Gen. 3rd Gen does not have the plug and play voltage booster option.

    People complain about a lot of things. If you listen to them, you wouldn't have bought your 3rd Gen Tacoma.

    You say the complaints started when they moved production to Mexico... well guess where many of the 3rd Gen Tacomas are built.

    Optima has been the longest, most tested, highest selling AGM battery for years. The complaints really started when other AGM options began really hitting the market and people who think they are cool by going with the next new fangled battery because newer ... better... Mexico.
