So to make a long story short, my steering rack went out (from extreme off-roading and years of crazy driving coupled with the 33x12.5s on my 4 cyl) and the tech tried to tell me I needed to pay him nearly $1,350 to have him replace my Rotors, Pads, and Drums.... He said the rotor is warped, but I can do the job myself and I know performance disc brake kits are about $200 for the high quality set.

So first things first, What would be the best disc/rotor brake I could put on my truck for stopping power? I was thinking maybe EBC kevlar brake pads with the cross slotted + drilled rotors. Keep in mind, I need to keep the rotors the same exact size as the OEM rotors for wheel clearance purposes.

Second, what would be the best drum brakes I could use to replace the rear?

Third, has anyone converted the rear drums to discs, and if so how hard is it?

1.I like the power stop kit for rotor and pads.
    2.Oem is fine for drums
3.They sell kits but its $$$ and I think only for 6lug unless you do something custom

What kit? Power stop for the front? Or disc break for the rear?

i've been vaguely thinking about putting rear discs on my 5 lug... have not thought too hard about it since it's for some point in the future, but i seem to recall some other thread about this where someone said you should also upgrade the master cylinder for replacing the drums with discs
