I've been putting boiled linseed oil on my vehicles for years, and use an oil spray gun with a compressor. I re-coat with it every 2 or 3 years, and has worked very well for me!

    Dry with leaf blower
Remove any loose rust and paint
Clean with Rust Bullet Metal Blast
Repaint with Rustoleum 7777 (cheap as hell and works great), really bad spots I used Rust Bullet Rust Inhibitor then 7777
Let paint cure then cover undercarriage with Fluid Film

    Cheap, Easy, and Effective

Yep, the whole concept is just to keep the bare metal from absorbing moisture and promoting the rust process. Fluid film is lanolin based. Comes from sheep and what makes wool water repellent. Bah,bah!

Fluid film, rust check, krown. Annual. I live on the north east coast of Canada, surrounded by the salty ocean and see road salt for almost 6 months of the year. Rubberized undercoating looks good, and does a good job of accelerating rusting underneath it and eventually falling off for the final reveal of rotten metal

I use Fluid Film to. I apply it every spring and fall. 4 years in NY and the truck frame has little to no rust. Takes a little time but +1 for Fluid Film.

I use this product annually prior to each reapplication of Krown. Good system for me, and i live about a half hour outside of Buffalo. I get the stuff at Home Depot on line, and they deliver it to the nearest HD for pick-up.

By the way, if you keep up with it, you can avoid grinding paint off, which i thing is counter-productive when avoidable.
