the vehicle needs to be very clean and really wet or you need some kind of lubricant like chemical guys after wash and a lot of it. problem with the squeegee is the vehicle dries too fast and it will stick to the paint if not well lubricated.

also need quality MF, use them for nothing but drying, and wash the towels properly with MF wash and machine dry with a sheet of aluminum foil and NO fabric softener

Before I got the plush towel, I used Adams Great White drying towel. Did you use a detail spray first? What towel did you use? Quality towels are a must.

I have some quality plush MF drying towels now. The waffle weave was about a $12 towel from autozone. It's now in my rag bin. The tightness of the waffle weave just didn't work for me for absorption. But the plush MF's work great.

I detailed cars and trucks for a little while and Ive used them and they dont scratch (unless theres dirt or anything between the paint and the blade of course), but they dont really do a great job either, they leave water marks on the paint at the 2 edges. I use The Absorber personally. just DO NOT drop it! once any dirt or anything gets in it, you do not want to use it on your vehicle. If you drop it use it for drying the dog and buy another for the car or truck :D

I use a leaf blower then I spray it down with Adam's Detail Spray and dry with good microfiber towels. The key is to wash you truck really good so all that crap is gone. You can use the best towel in the world with the best technique but if there is stuff left behind from washing your screwed.

I started with a microfiber drying towel and after a little while, I purchased an electric leaf blower. Think I paid $40.00 when it was on sale at Sears. A blower is completely worth it as it helps speed up the process of you are paint correcting / protection. It drove me nuts when I would start polishing the truck and when I got close to a book or cranny, water would start coming out. I tried my best during the clay bar prior, but it never completely dried.

Recently I was fortunate to purchase a Master Blaster and it is amazing! It's basically my leaf blower on steroids.

A question for those using an Absorber. How do you clean them? Do you use soap and water or just soak it and squeeze it out? Or is it better to just buy a new one every other month? I haven't tried the blower method yet but every microfiber towel i used just leaves streaks all day on the black paint.

If I am lazy and don't want to use my blower, I spray my truck down with detail spray and then dry with my plush microfiber towels. Streak free!!! Also, just because it's a micro fiber towel doesn't mean it's a good towel. Softer is better!!!

I'm curious about the aluminum foil?? I understand about dryer sheet, leaves a film on towels. Towels dryed with dryer sheets smudge glass. From my experience.

If i dry after wash i get streaks.if i try to do a touch up using a detail spay i get streaks. Only way so i'm not noticing streaks is with a wet absorber. Maybe someone can recommend a top notch microfiber towel.I've tried the best Walmart has to offer ..heh

I bought one of the two sided micro fiber towels yesterday from Walmart. It worked great. I use the Turtle wax ICE. Spray on the glass and everything. No streaks what so ever. Polishes glass crystal clear. And the shine on the paint is better than anything I have ever used.

I wash mine in a bowl in the sink with dish soap (once for every three or four truck washes). And I just make sure to rinse it very well. I go through about 3 absorbers per year. If it's visibly soiled or Ive dropped it, I generally just switch to a new one. I Always keep a new one on hand. I've heard you can also simply run them through the wash machine when you wash towels. Let air dry.

That is probably the issue along with possibly the detail spray you are using. I have good microfiber from Adams Polishes and Detailers Domain. I picked some up cheaps one from Chemical Guys but they are junk. I would also recommend checking out The Rag Company and Microfibertech. If I had to guess those 2 are supplying Adams and Detailers Domain.

Yup, the absorber works best once it's been totally wet and wrung dry. I run mine under the faucet before I start using it. Don't worry about getting it totally dry with absorber. Just do the bulk of it, then go back and "detail dry" with a MF.

I let it sit in a bowl of soapy water and then run it through the wash after ringing it out. Don't dry it!

a sheet of foil will remove static from towels since you should use dryer sheets or softener
