DOH! You're right. Sorry about that. I just googled the part number and saw the price. Didn't double check that the part number was the same. It must have hit on AVIC and BT.

I just installed a Kenwood DNX 6140 in my '09 Access Cab. $750 from SonicElectronix. Also purshased the Scosche trim kit and a wiring harness. Didn't upgrade the stock speakers. Sound is much, much better with great navigation, ipod and Bluetooth. Radio reception is also much better. Have yet to hook up the stock backup camera and steering wheel controls. Scosche trim arrived damaged which SonicElectronix replaced quickly. Overall very pleased and setup was relatively easy with wiring harness.

The Eclipse AVN726E is going to by my next step I think. I installed a Pioneer AVIC X-910bt and it's just sooooo slooooo starting up and it kills me. It's got some other "issues" but nothing really that bothersome. The Eclipse has 5V preouts (pioneer had 2.2v) so I'm ALL for that. The unit bypasses the DAC in the iPod too so you can use the one in the unit itself.

For the Kenwood DNX 6140 I purchased Scosche TA02B/TA02 wire harness and it was plug and play. Also got the iPod connector Kenwood KCA-IP301V and it was plug and play too. Also charges iPhones and iPods while connected.

If you're not planning on running an amp (like in my GF's car) it's perfect. However, if you're looking to run an amp it's a problem since it only has front and sub pre-outs.

It seems to me that the JVc 7000bt has more features for less money.

well the headunit is ordered and now i just need the ipod cable and dash kit.. ordering those today. also ordering baffles from mr marv, and already got infintity reference components for the front... got to order something for the back tho... SO gimme some opinions on 6.5's 2ways or 3ways for the back. I want more bass than anything out of them since it might be a while before I can afford the subs :( but i'll be happy with this setup for now

I'd skimp on the rears and save for the sub. If you wanted bass without a sub, then I'd have gone with good 6x9s up front. Any 6.5 that can play really low for the rears would cost more than replacing your fronts, so no point.

Congrats on the HU! Have Marv hook u up with a IDQ 10 or JL shallow 13 in a box and you should be good 2 go.

I see this is a a couple weeks old, but I gota chime in.

The Pioneer AVIC_X110BT is the best navi unit on the market right now.

The Kenwood Excelon DNX-9140 is close behind, but has had some issues witht he firmware that caused some incompatability issues with some add-ons. Actually the Kenwood DNX-8140 has had less issues but is almost the exact same unit, minus a couple features (mainly less sound processing stuff, I think a lower voltage output on the RCA's). Kenwoods navigation is actually Garmin software and updates come from Garmin for it. Really easy to use.

The JVC indash units are made by Kenwood, this from a JVC rep. Actually, the two companies are merging to one this year (new stuff from the two should be showed at CES this week or next).

The Alpine Navigation units suck. Pain in the butt to use. Not up to date. Overpriced. They only have nice sound processing features if used with the alpine multimedia amps with the built in processors.

Eclipse units suck too. I cannot tell you the return rates on those things due to issues. Eclipse as a brand has gone to crap the last 5 or 6 years.

thanks for info, im sure im going to love this unit.

as for eclipse, i hate that its going to crap. I used to run eclipse headunits, subs and 2ways in highschool. was great stuff back then, pretty much nothing could touch it without spending twice as much.

Anybody seen/have the Jensen Vm9423? It looks like a pretty good headunit with all the features that come with it for the price

I got a Avic-110Bt about a month ago. Love it so far. Has a few annoyances but none of them are perfect. Did the video over ride mod thing too (can't remember what its called). Was real easy and works great. I got it at Cructfield for about 1100 with a rear camera and dash kit. Still haven't installed the rear camera yet.

I sold my AVIC Z3 for an eclipse AVN726E. No regrets and the interface on the eclipse is absolutely beautiful. One thing thats not really advertised but is really cool is the street maps are stored in 3D...driving through the mountains with this unit is a trip.

Only thing it's missing is a inertia and speed sensor. it relies only on GPS which takes 30-60 seconds to come online from a cold start (much less on a "warm" start, vehicle off <15 minutes or so). the only time this really matter is if you're somewhere unfamiliar and need directions immediately after leaving.

i dont use NAV all that much so I can't be bothered. i love it!

So, what are you Eclipse users gona do for your map updates and/or service related stuff when your units act up? Cause I just heard that rumor flowing around out at CES (for the vendors that are there setting up) is that Eclipse is shutting down.
