The consensus on the forums seems to be the Toyota TRD exhaust.

Stock exhaust system is the best.

Borla makes the TRD exhaust. I also think Borla probably sounds best. On my 07 with the 4.0 V6 I cut off the stock muffler and welded in a Flowmaster 50 series and am pretty happy with it.

Two Cherry bombs with twin pipes gets the gals all foaming at the local DQ on a Friday night. It sounds like shit, but it's the mating call aka the cowboy cackler setup. I hope you don't like to keep you're truck clean, because she's gonna want to go mudding, but just tell her you're going to take her mudd-in back at her place.

Sell Tacoma, buy a Chevy and find true love at the DQ or just install a TRD exhaust and find a nice basic woman at Costco that's loading up on Tide and mom jeans.

I question that Borla makes it because the TRD exhaust looks like it's one piece. The Borla exhaust is three pieces. I've heard some people say that Bosal makes it.

What ever the OP does don't buy a Magnaflow, crappy product, crappy customer service.

Borla doesn't make the TRD exhaust. Bosal does.

Nothing will make it sound like a V8, just warning you if you think it's possible, it's not

waaaa, pause for rev hang, waaaa, pause, waaaa

It's not a v8, it's going to sound slightly homoerotic at times, but I still think it's the best. Slightly louder than the TRD, does the snap, crackle, pop between shifts, but nowhere nearly as loud and homoerotic as that MBRP or however it's spelled ebay crap.

Honestly they all sound like crap. But the TRD sounds the best.

TRD seems to be the quietest too, that should tell OP something. This engine isn't meant to have a pleasurable exhaust note.
