so im building my truck towards a built truck to run trails like the Rubicon

i'm looking at exhaust kits, all of them are passenger side or dual exhaust exits

but i think i'm planning on getting High clearance Rear plate bumper.
is if i ran that bumper would a normal exhaust kit be hanging kind of low? and probably get smashed and caught on rocks?

so would my best option be the MBRP Exhaust XP Series Cat Back Exhaust System?
    basically before axle turn down?

its just feels like maybe i'm being cheap for a kit thats $285

If it were me, i would have a custom exhaust made for it, they typically arent to much more expensive than a kit, and that way the maker can bend and weld the joints together and put it where you want it.

Have a muffler welded on, chop wherever.
Cheap, easy, and ur not wasting money on a whole catback (not gunna see any diff in performance anyhow).

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Best exhaust is a cut and rerouted one.

Maybe @MADSTEEZE will be able to chime in, he has an awesome high clearance custom rerouting setup for his exhaust on his 3rd gen sport

Relentless Armored! Too many others to list.
The MBRP is a nice system, I have one on my Tundra.
On our 4runners however I have just chopped the stock muffler out, welded in a Magnaflow muffler and then a turn down on the back of the muffler very similar to that of the MBRP style but for all of about $90 and an hour and a half of my time.
The one thing that would definitely help clearance is a cross over relocate/reroute at an exhaust shop. Just have to make sure you do it to work with whatever skids you run. It'll give you a flatter belly at the trans cross member

@zackmicf are you still in Reno? We do have a Reno thread on here too

Looks good. Any heat shield added to the cross over?

Yeah I wrapped it with exhaust wrap.

I've inspected it a few times and it doesn't seem to be causing any changes in that plastic housing. It looks closer in the pictures than it actually is.

I'm taking this pick with me to a muffler shop. Did you change the muffler out as well?

Yeah, I got the Borla Pro XS muffler. It's cutoff just behind the axle and dumps down. Sounds great IMO

Just out of curiosity do you or did you have any of the 2000 rpm steering wheel vibes?

Not that I've noticed. But with the 33" Cooper Discoverer STT's i don't think I would be able to.
