    DeLorme Earthmate PN40, a great unit with awesome available map packs> I never go on a trail run without it

    Gps that I have been using for the past few years and is still considered to be a very good GPS is the Garmin GPS60CSx. I had mine hardwired in my truck so I have constant power when I need it.

    I picked one of those up too. I picked up the regional GPS micro-SD for $30 and it worked great on a long trip that included lots of trailriding.

    I really like the Gaemin units for on the road. But I dont think they make a better unit then the DeLorme Earthmate series for trails and such. Software is very detailed and you can download sat images right to the GPS. Perfect for hiking and hunting.

    We have a Nuvi, after we updated the maps the things takes forever to find satellites. Another annoying thing is that although I have "use only highways" selected, at times it still wants to take you off the beaten path.
