Best Headlight Protectant??

that taillight cracking is something else entirely...that was damaged by something in transit

 

Never had an issue with Ultimate on the 2007 nor on the 2017. Shit seems to last forever.

 

That’s what they told me when I asked too. I have thought about making a template on some universal sheets as well.

Did you end up doing it with a single piece per headlight or did you use a separate piece of film for the front and top portion of the lens?

Does the state of California have anything to say about ceramic coating?

 

Here in florida with no garage and no maintenance, headlights start to go to shit in 3-4 years.

These tacomas with their STUPID bulging lights that have that top area exposed to the sky will look like garbage pretty quickly. If you notice, headlights that are recessed into the grilles last more time without fading.

 

Single piece. I thought about the top part being covered, and didn't do it.

 

had mine clear coated with automotive clear.

 

admittedly my 2013 is just now showing slight craze on the top facing part, rest of it fine.

I think it's heat related, not UV.

 

I think it would be great for any plastic surface

 

Either way doesn't seem like something that should happen to a vehicle that is slightly over a year old. I will be sure to keep an eye on the replacement so that if something similar happens I can get it fixed before the warranty expires. If it happens after the warranty I think I will look for an aftermarket replacement that can be replaced from the outside.

 

Agreed, but I was clarifying for the subject we were talking about.

 

Every time I wash my vehicles I put a thin film of Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish on, let it dry, then buff it off.

I’ve used this to clear up already slightly yellowed/foggy lenses and with my newer cars I do it to prevent.
Works pretty well for stuff I already had. Once this jar runs out I might look into other stuff.

 

This sounds like the same thing I read on an Amazon review of 303

 

Yeah, I know it wasn’t the original purpose for the stuff but I remember looking up ways to get rid of the yellow and it was mentioned in a forum somewhere.

 

I had the UV coating fail on my '17. Getting it warrantied this weekend.

I think I may put a clear vinyl for the top part.
