i've been using one of the more expensive Bushnell scopes on my 270 for years now with no complaints at all. used it for a head shot on a 12pt buck a couple years ago at around 425 yards... then of course theres always Leupold...

move to canada and you wont need a gun to feel safe, just use your good ol sluggers. plus no one enters your home here unless you did something to piss them off.

I always thought it was stupid how the us allows everyone to have guns, if they didnt then the criminals wouldnt have them and you wouldnt need one to defend yourself from them.

Im pretty sure its just a way to arm the whole country cause the world hates the united states and this way no one will invade you guys. Who in their right mind would invade a country where every house hold has a gun??

Im just saying that we dont allow them here and rarely do criminals have guns just cause they are not as easily accessible. yes they can still get them but barely ever does it happen.

That's very true. That sound will scare the living $hit out of someone who knows the sound, and is on the opposite end of the shooter.

Yep, shotgun is the BEST home defense weapon. ;) I have the shortest barrel that is legal; for a very broad spread so I can hit the criminal in the dark without having to aim. Just the general direction will take him down. My shotgun also has a pistol grip, so if I'm in a hallway, I have full maneuverability without the big stock hitting the wall trying to turn around.
Do criminals get drugs? Yes. Will criminals get guns if they're illegal? Yes. It's only going to kick the average citizen in the nuts because of what some bad actions people do with the guns. Guns don't kill people, the person shooting it does. IBTL :locked:

    A. One-third of Canadians own a gun or guns; 90% of Americans do. B. Canada has 60 gun murders for every million people annually; the US has 340.
    C. Canada annually has 190 total murders per 1 million population; the US has 570.

just look at the statistics, its only common sense, i could understand how you guys would think the way you do seeing how you have been brain washed with it your whole lives.

Its ok if you needs guns to feel big.. I understand lol

This is going to start some controversy so I am going to unsubscribe from this thread so everything you guys say back I will not see, so dont bother I guess.

It's not the gun, it's the person. That is like blaming a fork or spoon for Rosie O'Donnell being fat. Ain't going to fly here. IBTL :locked:

ive talked to alot of gun safety teachers, old cops, gun salesmen and what ive always heard is a shoptgun is a last line of defense weapon... u cant one hand it and they are usually long making the hard to move around corners... they are great to sit in the corner of ur room and wait

9mm pistol is my choice, its what most special forces operatives use b/c u can get more rounds off with less spread

theres alot that skews those numbers tho, like how populated the area is... more gun crimes happen in more densely populated areas canada one has a couple, that percentage of americans with guns is bogus that might be the number of guns owned as in 90 guns are owned per 100 americans but 3 of those americans own 5+ guns

do i have a shotgun rack ready in my bedroom...yes...

is it my primary go to weapon for home defense...absolutely NOT

many of you...if not most of you...are not trained in clearing a building...and while you may be proficient with your weapon...its usually a better idea to stay in your bedroom and call 911...

my roommates and i are all trained to clear buildings...none of us use a shotgun for that purpose...

think about it like this...you come to a corner with a shotgun...you go around it...you have 2 options...the barrel goes first and could possible alert the guy whos in your house and he's ready for you when you hit the corner...or you have your barrel aimed down...NOT ready for action...

you have a handgun...you can keep that up at a semi-ready position near your chest...hit the corner and be ready to fire a WHOLE lot quicker

yes...the sound of a racking shotgun is scary...but myself...i like tactical advantages wherever i can get them

the house is completely dark at night...no lights...a burglar doesnt know the layout of your house like you do...you should be able to move about the house effortlessly in the dark...and if youre quiet...you can get the jump on the guy

if i was to choose to sit and wait in my room...then yes...id have my shotgun in my hands and as soon as the door began to open that sumbitch would be racked loudly and id be off to the side of the door quick like

those of you with families should focus on protecting them by staying with them to protect them...and quietly call 911...
