Oh man, the struggle is real!

So I have a GFC. You have to take the front wheel off to do it this, but it’s nice because it’s all locked up in there while you’re drinking your post ride margarita.

If you’re determined to keep it attached to the hitch and don’t have an oversized tire I think the Rockymounts Backstage is the best bang for your buck.

If you have an oversized tire and a factory bumper the Ultraswing is probably the best way to go, but it’s not cheap. I used to have one and I liked it, but I live in Colorado and decided to sell it so I can install a high clearance bumper. You can attach your 1Up rack to the extra mount. They also make accessories for the back side of the tire. Here’s what mine looked like.

I have a 1Up as well, but with my new bumper I’m going to have to fab up a new swingout that’s welder to my bumper, similar to the Ultraswing. 18A294FA-33EE-4277-B504-1DDF1DBC9062.jpg

I’m going to have to figure out a way to do this with my BAKflip tonneau cover and forward cab MOLLE panel. Have to see if there’s clearance between the fork and the BAKflip when folded, and I should have the necessary bolt holes on the MOLLE panel to attach an axle mount.

I like that keeping the forks raised up a bit leaves space under the bike for hauling plenty of miscellaneous gear.

Kuat Sherpa here. Works great for 2 bikes. And I made a 3D printed mount for my aftermarket back up camera with one position on the license plate, and two positions on the rack depending on whether bikes are there or not. This might also work with some other racks.
