Thanks. I was thinking of going with the stage 2 of the U402 because I won’t Ben doing a shackle replacement any time soon. My medium Dakars are ok, but creak and pop like a biotch. The leaf ends slide side to side when turning over angles and slap the shackle

OME. Plan is to move into King coilovers to match the 12" Kings in the rear.

Hmm you might be closer to the stage 1 with the medium pack, but the stage 2 would be nice if you are running 400 pounds in the bed. The good thing is you can always get the stage 1 and if it doesnt work you can have deaver send you another leaf to make it a stage 2. The only downside is you would have to remove the pack, add the leaf and put it back. The rear was a bit stiff before I added the HC bumper and GFC but i dont recall it being terrible. It definitely rides better with the weight though.

They should all provide 3" of lift but support different loads

Don't think anyone has mentioned Alcan yet...I've yet to hear one bad thing about their custom leaf springs they build. Pricey but they build them to meet your exact needs (lift, weight, usage, etc.)

I looked into them once and they were around the 700 range, told them what I would run empty and what I expected when loaded. Still deciding but need to visit this again.

I've had bad luck with leaf springs, Dakars couldn't hold weight even with the AAL (1st gen packs) and were noisy as hell...All Pro Expos barely hold it any better (also noisy)...next time I'm going with Alcans. But I have to save up since they are pretty expensive not including shipping cost. But from what I hear from those that have gone with them, worth every penny

I put 1000lbs in when I had the had 7- leaf Dakars and they handled the weight very well. Are you running the HD?

That's the thing, for 1st gens they only offer one Dakar leaf pack which is for standard weight, then you can add leafs to it if you want to up it's carrying capacity. They don't sell them in standard/medium/heavy duty like they do for 2nd/3rd gens

Per Deaver, the U402 Expedition springs give 2" of lift at the lower end of the rated weight. They also require extended travel shocks.

I'm running Icon RXT Stage 1 and am very happy with ride quality so far (about 5k miles). I don't routinely carry any weight (other than a tonneau) so decided on stage 1. I can always move up to stage 2 or 3 if I decide to go heavier or need more lift in the future.

I’m not sure what the first measurement was but right now they are about 23” center of hub to fender.

the second photo I think I missed the center of the hub on.

keep in mind when I say I don’t haul anything I mean it... the longest I’ve done is about a 100 lb bench for 20 miles or 200 lbs of lumber for about 5 miles. Other than that, nothing.

    That’s 1” of lift from stock 22”

    Fronts sit at 21” stock

I have the Allpro Standard. My bed is empty most of the time and it rides terrible, even with a small load of 100-150 lbs (paired with Fox 2.0). People who rides with me always comment on how rough the ride is towards the rear. I may look into Deavers or Alcan
