I run 35s and didn't re-gear, the truck still has balls, it would help to do it but is not a must, specially in my case being that its a 6 speed !

I can't remember the exact prices off the top of my head but I think I got my trail grapplers in 285/75/r16 for just over 270 and the rims for 150.

LT doesn't really seem cost efficient for the wheeling here unless I'm mistaken. Lt seems to be more suited to the desert where you can really use the extended travel at speed. Ripping around on logging roads here is stupid because of all the blind corners and the rock face on one side and a cliff on the other o.o

I've had no problems wheeling my DCLB with a 3" setup. Gone everywhere where my friends access cabs have gone. Just have to choose line carefully. 3" lift with 255s. That being said, I have since clearanced my fenders and will be on 35s. LT is a lot of money to sink into a truck that you're not going to wheel hard. Save the money for a bumper, tires, wheels, winch, front locker. Just my .02

Thanks all. I really appreciate everyones input. I'm still undecided on which route I will take. I am currently researching and compiling a detailed long term budget for both long travel and mid travel setups. This combined with my new job once I get my first paycheck will help me make a more educated decision

I'm still deciding on which lift i'm getting, i got excited at first and then realized, "Wait a minute.. i need new tires and rims before i get my lift" and settled down a bit.

Nice to see some fellow canadian users here!

Yeah it's always good to see more canucks on TW! Just out of curiosity why are you getting rims and tires first? Don't you need to lift first in order to make them fit? (I'm assuming you're up sizing)

    Them canucks.. lol

I just meant i have to do everything at once because i have 17" rims now but they won't have the proper backspacing i'll need after i get my lift

2" LT + 35s work well for me.

Yea Costco and canadian tire will probably be your best bet and I think dclbs look nice with a lift than DCSB.

And OP, don't go LT front and MT rear, because the rear won't keep up.
EDIT: I guess it might not matter too much unless you're hitting whoops. Not sure of the details, but Spoonman's setup seems to work well.
