I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma and was planing on lifting it about 3in. i want to do it myself but wasn't sure which one to get. should i get a body lift, leveling kit, or suspension lift? I've never done any lift kits before so this will be my first one. Also if i was to do that, would i have to change the brake lines and make them longer and just curious on what size tires i can fit under them.

    Welcome in Tacoboy! :dancingbacon:

My first suggestion is to use the Search function up and to the right on this page. Not being a dick trust me. I did a ton of research on TW before I landed on what I wanted. Its an investment and you want to ensure you get it right.

    Two pieces of advice:
    1. Mod your truck for the 80% of its use. You don't need a LT Baja Racer if you hit the trails occasionally and pick up the groceries. My opinion.
    2. Buy once, cry once. Once you land on something you want, get the best components you can afford or you will be replacing them again. and again.

I would also urge you to slide on over to @HeadStrong Off-Road and talk to Marie. She is AWESOME and took all my idiotic questions, learned me some stuff and picked the lift that suited my needs and budget.

Good Luck and post some pics when done!

    Good advice ^^^^^

Also, whatever you do, don't jump for the first thing you like, unless you have your mind completely set on it!!! I'd advise that you spend at least a month reading up on suspension threads and then you can get an idea of what others like and don't like, and then you can see what would be best for you before you order anything.

In terms of "best lift for the $$", it can be argued about all day. Personally, I'd consider the stuff from Old Man Emu to be the "best lift for the money", because they are quality items that aren't insanely expensive and will offer plenty enough performance for the majority of people.

Definitely hit up @HeadStrong Off-Road or @YotaDan at Wheeler's for your questions, they will be happy to help.

With a 3" lift, you'll probably need longer brake lines in the rear for sure, not sure about the front. You should be able to fit a 33" tire with this lift with none or only minor trimming I believe.

Okay so NO you won't need to extend anything the best lift for the money is a 5100 SUSPENTION LIFT a spacer lift will ruin your shocks and a body lift is just silly, ive found 4 shocks for 200$ before the ride quality is amazing you could probably have the old shocks out and new ones in, maybe less than two hours all done on your own, don't cheep out on your truck you'll be paying way more later on

    https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/toyo...ble-front-shocks-for-1995-2004-toyota-tacoma/

That's a simple lift you would need someone to compress your springs and put them on the new shocks but that would lift your truck 2.5 inches only up front and it would make your truck ride better
