I had a 2002 SR5 4X4 Access cab. I bought it new in 2002 and I absolutely loved that truck I4 5 speed.. I messed up in 2006 and traded it for a new Tundra. After a 3-4 years I wanted a new Tacoma but I just couldn't deal with the looks of the 2nd Gen front end in 2010. It was so much of a down grade over the 1st Gen looks wise. So I traded it for new Hemi Challenger and bought a 1999 Tacoma 4X4 Single cab with 220K on it as a daily driver. Then when the 2012's came out it was a whole new ball game. I sold the Tacoma for almost $1,000 more than I paid for it even though it was 2 years older and now had 230K (never touched the truck). And traded the Challenger in on my current 2012 DCSB. I love the looks of the 2012-2015's. To me the best looking Tacoma's to date. Just slightly edging out Gen 1. I looked at trading for a Gen 3 a couple of times (take it mine is customized somewhat) but when I look at them side by side.....I just can't see it.

It's been covered many many times in many threads. Opinions vary and is really a pointless discussion.

Love the early 1st gens, but they're getting hard to find. 12-15 2nd gens are great looking rides. 3rd gens are also pretty nice lol. I want them all

My girl sitting in the driveway would be disappointed if I didn't say she was the best looking tacoma.

I dunno. I think the styling department was on-point with the 3rd Gen. The whole range is good looking, but if I had to choose a fave: IMG_3689.jpg

have to go with 01-04 DC, followed by second gen, would not consider the third gen, but that is just me and we all have different tastes.

I'm not sure my opinion matters because I do not own one, yet.
I'd say the 2nd gen is the best looking one.

Gen 1, only because it is the last of the true Toyota mini pickups. They all look good though.

Looks like the 2nd gen 2012-2015 refresh is ahead of it's closest competitor by about 2 to 1.

Any truck that has my wife, kids and/or dogs in it gets my vote for best looking. Currently, that would be my 2017Inferno DCSB 6speed manual.

I was drooling over the '12-'15 models before I found mine. Of course it's nice saving $10k by not buying a new third gen, but another reason I strayed away from the third gen was because the '12-'15's just looked so perfect. Not too much going on, simple, but aggressive.

My late Partner had an 04 Access Cab. Nice little truck, but it was ALWAYS uncomfortable for me to drive any kind of a distance. I always felt like I was sitting on the floor. I prefer my 06 Double cab, but I'm a pretty big guy.

Not only does the 2012+ look better on the outside the interior is pretty nice also. We planned on finding an older 2nd gen trd Offroad in our budget. But we feel in love with this 2012 sr5 and got it instead. I really wanted the locker as I'm an offroading enthusiast but decided I can always add a locked down the road. Plus open diff takes a bit more skill and can be very capable.
