Best off-road tires and wheels for 23 TRD Sport

Never ran 87 in my truck, except for when I picked up my brand new truck from the dealer. I could run 87 with this tune, but will see diminished performance.

I don’t like using gas with ethanol, even on stock tune, I ran shell 91E0.
We don’t have 87E0 here. On chevron 94E0 my truck drives the best.

Also, my truck sits 5 days a week, another reason why I don’t like ethanol.

 

I'll swap you my 23' TRD OR 16's for your 23' Sport 17's. Mine are just under 2k miles right now!

When installed, at about 35 psi it’s not even 31”.

Measure the height of tire installed on your truck.

 

Don’t need to measure anything. The listed revolutions per mile by manufacturer will tell you all you need to know.

5280/# of revs = feet per rev

feet per rev * 12 = inch per rev

inch per rev * 3.14159 (pi)

= the actual diameter of the tire.

That calculation has always been the most accurate for determining the size of the tire. Inflation, weight of truck, etc don’t have any affect. The tire is still round and has to roll around its circumference no matter what the pressure is.

Also, tire advertisements are nominal….no tire measures up to its advertised height. And the revs per mile are advertised and correct, so….

obviously the tire will wear down as it’s used but it is very slight and I have never measured any real increase in rpm as the tire gets smaller.

 

That's a nominal dimension, most 265/70/17s are right about 30.6-30.7" real world.

The Toyos are an absolutely fantastic tire. But, I'd rather 255/75R17 C than 265/70R17 SL/E

 

I'm in Central VA. If you're close, I may have interest for the right price if you want to sell them.

You helped so much last time, I thought I'd bug you once more. I like the look of those 255/85/16 and have a line on some close to me but are they significantly louder on pavement? Logic says yes, but to the point of annoyance?

Oof. Yes, you will definitely hear them, might even feel slight vibration. It’s a mud terrain tire, they all make noise.

Cooper STT maxx is a hybrid tire that comes in 255/85/16, according to folks that own them the noise is minimal.

FWIW my 17” falken wildpeaks ATs are completely silent on hwy.
