The opposite spot of the 4WD selector is (right of clock) is ideal, but it's a little too far away.

Minus the texturing, the area that I mounted mine is slick and glossy, and I don't have full contact either. It's worked though without major issue for the past several years.

For what it's worth, when I had to reposition my mount, I was briefly afraid I'd break the plastic. I'm serious. 3M makes damn good adhesive.

    Exactly my thoughts.

Thanks again. I'll probably give that area a try. Nothing to lose.

    Perfect! :fistbump:

Might as well get a new trim piece if you ever have to remove the mount.

I am very happy with my charger dock from ProClip USA... It's the Tacoma laser cut device mount with integrated plug/charger which uses the factory apple lighting cord. This system integrates very well with carplay. I just get in truck, slide my phone in and its charging and connected to Carplay.. No more hassling with wires. And it's adjustable to fit the width of any case. Highly recommend: https://www.proclipusa.com/product/834163-proclip-console-mountScreen Shot 2020-09-18 at 1.08.50 PM.jpg

I like this , what do you have to “stick” to the bracket when installing ? What’s it look like under that pad ? Can you attach a a ball mount to it ?

The plastic bracket is laser cut with edges so that it snaps right into place along the center console and can be removed easily, there is also a small strip of 3M tape that keeps it in place. I'm not sure about the ball mount but the company overs a number of phone mount and vehicle mount options, check them out at https://www.proclipusa.com/

@jrlockman so the 3m tape goes at the bottom of the mount on the side of your console ? Or does that area snap under the console ?

Ah ok yea that helps a lot better , thank you . I emailed the company and asked them what hole spacing it had and if I can use a ram mount on it and they replied that “it would wear out the mount” . I don’t really see how lol but I guess I’ll find out .

Here's what I did. I can't see the blower control but I can still access it. I just use it so I can use the GPS on my phone when not in use I just remove the holder and leave the bracket in place. It's printed from PLA I might try something else later.2013 Tacoma Phone Holder Prototype.jpg
