I got the Scosche MagicMount, and stuck it onto the blank below the passenger left vent. It gets knocked sometimes by my passenger when she has bags, otherwise its a great location for me and it holds solid.

    CHEVERLY my service dog! Lol
I’ve tried a few of these that slide into the CD slot. They destroy the cd dust guard and never seem to work for me. My iPhone with case seems too heavy no matter how much I tighten it down

First post on the forum, hopefully not the last..

Here's my magnetic phone mount.. CNC some back plates and made some of my own ball mount with threaded inserts for the ram mount clamps.

In the near future I'm planning to machine out a solid piece of billet aluminum where the black plastic cover sits.

Did you do anything to the plastic to reinforce it? I just used the same spot and attached a ram ball to the plastic cover and with the phone on it just pulls right off the dash. I was thinking of ziptieing the cover from the back to stop it from coming out but I may need some sort of plate.

Yea i made some bracket to sandwich it to the main part of the dash. The mount is resting on 1/4-20 all threads so its not going anywhere

Yea my plan is the same, I tried to be lazy and not take the whole surround off but looks like I need to anyways.

Welcome to TW! Great job on making use of that space. I put a mic holder on the opposite side.

You know I'm not really sure. I bought the truck used and just assumed it was the oem TRD OR shifter

I’m trying out the Techform ecosystem. I preferred no drilling and want visibility close to my line of sight while driving.

it’s sleek, 2 minutes to install, enough articulation to get orientation I want and so far seems very stable. Will update after some real world driving conditions.

Note: $58 for everything including shipping, vent mount, arm and phone holder. By far one of the more reasonably priced systems.

I've seen many of these mounts posted on here (TechDeck, 3D printed custom, etc.) but nothing seems simpler and more effective than the grab handle RAM ball mod.
