My 1st Gen is gone and I've gone Gen 3! First question...

Had my camper shell put on this week from the dealer I purchased it from. Decided to have them throw my Prinsu rack on the cab since it was there anyway, save me some time. Well, they installed it without putting the weather stripping back on. I specifically asked them to just punch through it, however the guy who installed it tried to tell me "once you take these off you cant put them back on". Okay.

Anyways, my question is has anyone ran theirs like this? And if so, any issues? I'm not feeling great about leaving that channel open like that. I'm thinking about putting it back on and just cutting around the bolted sections. I really don't want to take the entire rack off and re-silicone.

Thoughts?

 

plug the channels up IMO. probably will make more wind noise if you don't
