Has anyone mounted a holster in their truck for quick access? I've tried the under the steering wheel mount and it sucks! Show me what you've got!

I just jam my M-tac in between the center console and seat. Doesn't move around and is secure enough that you can draw the pistol

Mine resides within my center console if need be. My question is to the guys who have your stuff in plain sight, what happens if you get pulled over? Just looking for a serious straight-forward answer, not any sort of debate, as I am asking this as a serious question. I understand the pros of an immediate access location, but also see a lot of cons.

I always keep hands on the wheel and let the officer know that I am carrying concealed, sure I legally don't have to tell them but I do so as a courtesy. Never once has it been an issue, actually I think having your CPL is a instant "This guy isn't a felon" sign. Usually it'll lead into a 15 minute conversation about guns

TN allows open carry with a license. If I get pulled I toss mine in the console just to make the Leo more comfortable. But I could leave it anywhere and not have any problems.

Best place for a holster depends on what you are carrying and your body comp. My G19 and 23 are easily and comfortably carried in a high rise appendix holster for short-medium trips. Drawing from that location and servicing threats could get interesting without training and practice though. In my old F150 I had more than enough room for the steering column holster mount but I think this taco is to tight. I worked out of hilux's for a few years and I think the dimensions are close and even a "compact" pistol doesn't have enough room to be safely brought into action. I am going to look into a hard mount holster between the console and drivers seat.

This. I use a Remora holster wedged between seat and center console. I put it on the passenger side, and keep a hat over it so it's concealed but easy reach.

Been carrying in my car or truck for more years than I will ever admit. Mostly in Georgia and Florida. I have never said a word when I've been pulled over. Never even been asked. If I am ever asked I will, of course, answer truthfully. Not a crime to have weapon in your vehicle in Georgia or Florida, with or without a permit. In all those years, there have only been a handful of times when I thought some scumbag might force me to have to use my gun, but it never came to that. Each one of those times, I was very glad I was carrying.
I usually keep in the console. Sometimes in the door, sometimes between the seat and console, sometimes under my right leg. It all depends on where I want to keep it.
